Hotel is on a great location. Close to transportation Rome Termini, and close to sites like Santa Maria Maggiore and the coliseum. Easy public bus rides to take you to pantheon, Fontana de Trevi, Spanish steps . Room was very small and the bathroom layout was not comfortable. Also a little tired aspect to the rooms. Rooftop is beautiful with a nice restaurant

Hotel is conveniently located near Termini train station and metro. It is also not far from many major attractions. Hotel provides good continental breakfast. Rooms are clean, have comforable beds and nice shower rooms. Hotel's staff is very nice. However we could make coffee in only small cups by using provided 2 free K cups a day and we couldn't make tea.

Friendly greeting at front desk and they even accommodated an early check-in which was much appreciated. Overall the hotel was clean, and the rooms are newly renovated. The area is ok, but not the best. Conveniently located for proximity to the train station however.

I had a great experience here, the rooms are very good. The showers are very European-esqu. The hotel location is great, walking distance to a lot of places. I really enjoyed my stay here

walkable to the train station , and some attractions esp the Santa Maria Maggiore , a must see Basilica . Not a fan of the bathroom set up. otherwise it's a comfortable stay .

Room was great (clean, modern). Loved the washroom because it was very big and clean. I initially thought the shower wasn't working and I was very embarrassed when a staff came to help me (I was stupid and turned the handle, instead of pull) but they were very kind and understanding. Very close to Roma termini, so very convenient.

It was our first time to Italy and we stayed the first two nights at the Major. It was close enough to the train station to walk, if you decided to take the Leonardo Express train from the airport, and walkable to other nearby attractions. Hotel was clean and service was excellent.

Great location - we walked loads during our stay, and The Major was a handy base. Masa restaurant was fantastic: really pleased I booked it for our first night. Very high quality dishes, and an obliging chef who prepared some great vegan plates. Hotel itself was spotless, and the staff professional at all times. A little noisy, being on a busy traffic street, but the bed and bathroom in the superior room was great...so all in all, very happy.

Not as expected for the price
The location is not so nice, quite dirty around the area. We were expecting a better experience overall. The smell of the hotel is not good . The rooms are OK and confortable. The staff in the restaurant downstairs quite un friendly but this is an overall italian way of treating tourists.

Very cute hotel with nice décor in Monti area of Rome. The room was very dusty even after the daily cleaning. Avoid the restaurant upstairs at all costs - staff are rude and the food is terrible and over priced

Wonderful stay at this hotel & meal on rooftop
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is in a great location within walking distance to all of the main attractions in Rome. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend the rooftop restaurant, the food and service was outstanding!

I had an excellent stay at the Major. Very friendly staff and a beautiful spacious room.Waking up to a view of the St.Maria Majora Basilicca through my window was just out of this world. I would highly recommend this hotel and a very speacial mention to the chef at MASA and the 2 amazing staff Alexandro and David. Many thanks for making my holiday so memorable guys. Will visit again.

The staff were very nice, the property was clean and modern. The location, although prime, for the price there were better locations available at other four star hotels. Also hotel toiletries were not good - only gave shampoo and soap and I had to buy conditioner, no shower gel either. Normally I would just expect this. Also, first coffee was free but then on you needed to pay, same for water. It's not much to pay but a bit silly we thought. Room service was not 24/7 but we could go out and buy things easily. Masa the restaurant had beautiful views, really nicely covered up for winter and staff were exceptionally kind. I didn't like the food very much but that probably is just me. Overall, I'd probably not come back because I didn't think the location was as happening as some of the other locations. The basilica next to ours was very beautiful but the environment was a bit dead. In other places, there were people and piazzas with full of Christmas lights and decorations. While not bad, not very exciting. I'm sure summer will be different but for winter I would have preferred a location more lively and charming by trevi fountain or the pantheon.

Lovely sophisticated boutique property. Efficient, friendly staff. Great views from roof top bar. From the personalized note on my pillow to the heated towel racks was a wonderful base to explore the tourist highlights of Rome. An easy 5 mile loop from Trevi to Forum to Coloseum and lovely piazzas along the way.

Very nice hotel. Staff is very helpful. There is a restaurant on the top with beautiful view on the church. The location is convenient 7 min walk to Termini station, 15 min to Coliseum and 20 min to Spanish steps.
