People don't respect others at bedtime, are talking so loud by the pool at late hours. also, you need to mention that the parking is around the corner and the administration desk is open late.

Really nice hotel. Basic rooms. AC nice and quiet. No outside noise. As for breakfast better go outside. Restaurant that serves breakfast very disorganized, you will waste a lot of time. Hotel itself is nice and very clean.

Just left Hotel Colonial after a 7 night stay. Everyone at the hotel from the people that worked behind the desk, to the Security Guard (Abraham), to the maids, all were so friendly and helpful and all treated me like a VIP (which I'm not!) Basic room, but a king sized bed, refrigerator, a/c, great water pressure, room safe, and tv. I couldn't find any English speaking channels, but I wasn't there to watch tv, so really not an issue. Food carts right around the corner on Calle 2. Fifth Avenue 3 blocks away. El Fogon, on Avenida 30 a 5 minute walk. Walmart & Mega app a 10-12 walk (max). I didn't use the pool, but it was very big and right behind the lobby, looked great. No elevators, but I was only 1 floor up so no issues for me. I would stay at Hotel Colonisl again without hesitation.

The same day as I needed a stay, I made a reservation (approximately 8PM). Only after I made the reservation was I informed that the check-in period ended at 6 PM. When I tried to call them to explain the circumstances, no one answered the phone. I called and called and called, but no one answered. It was pure luck that I was able to find an alternative place to stay, but the reservation was nonrefundable. It's a good thing they didn't require my card information, because I would have reported the charges as fraudulent.

loved the area and hotel staff and very cute hotel.visited during christmas and noticed the sun does not hit the courtyard or pool so you really cant swim unless you like it cold and you need to walk to beach to tan. did not appreciate the constant door slamming that just did not seem to stop from guest's but thats not the hotels fault. we bought ear plugs for that. all in all..we loved this small hotel

Excellent value at the Colonial. Super clean spacious air conditioned rooms with a powerful shower, and a big screen TV. Pool area is spotless and attractive! Will stay here again!

I was there for 2 nights. I enjoyed my stay but the only bad experience was that i hang the sign to clean up my room and the housekeeper failed to do it. I left around 1130am and returned around 530pm and my room was untouched.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Colonial (it shows up as SC Hotel on google maps). It has a charming look to it with the pool in the central courtyard. It sits a few blocks off of the touristy 5th Ave, but close enough to walk to the beach. It is also a short walk to the town hall plaza, which comes to life with families in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful about explaining where things were around town. We noticed there were mostly hispanic families staying in this hotel, but we got by with our limited Spanish skills. We got what we payed for, a safe and clean place: AC worked, clean sheets and towels plus toiletries, safe in the room, breakfast available next door for purchase, screens on the windows. It is by no means a 5 star luxury hotel. At night you can hear the sound of people at the pool or music from down the street, but with the fan or AC on it is mostly drowned out. Would definitely stay here again with the family!

This hotel is a good value, located a very short walk from the beach and Quinta Avenue and the ferry to Cozumel. Great breakfast restaurant directly next door, as well as excellent street tacos around the corner.

There is no parking , unless u park on street, bad part parquimeter u have 6hrs max and no option if u are far like in cozumel to add more time, i found a public parking for $15 pesos x hr...best option

For the price it was good
For the price point this was a very good deal. The highlight is the pool of you enjoy swimming or cooling off after being out in the heat. The dorm was street facing and offered shared balcony. Daily house keeping was thorough but took about an hour to clean the room usually. The place was quite clean but the pool somehow got debris in it mostly from the plants that surround the pool. It is an older building that has aged but the open skylight around the pool area gives a nice SkyView from inside and is s nice area to lounge. The location is a short walk from the beach a few blocks. There are tons of restraunts and bard and stores within a 10 minute walk. It seemed to cater for a variety of tour groups.

The only good thing about this place is the location if you like sketchy dudes hanging outside your room all day on their phones broken locks rock hard beds and roaches then this is the place for you the only redeeming quality is the location and well maybe the price so all that was expected but like I said the location is great

Big disappointment. Nothing like the pictures. Good location near downtown and only 4 blocks from the beach. Had to help driver from airport find it; not well marked. They knew two people were coming. There was one glass, one bath towel; charge of 1 USD to get a clean towel. Was overcharged; they expected me to pay the full cost even though a deposit was made. Final price was more than Expedia said it would be. the front desk, such as it was, was manned by a man who sometimes understood English, and then, didn't. Would find another hotel in the area next time.
