Check In was quick and staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and covered necessities. Some light fixtures didn't work, and we wanted to wind down with TV, but couldn't get it to work...not a big deal to us, but facts.

The hotel it’s outdated and needs to be renovated. We stayed for 4 nights and unfortunately they didn’t cleaned the room, they just let us new towels every day but the room was dirty, even the blankets wasn’t changed and that’s not acceptable. Other hotels offers you one or two bottles of water every day as a courtesy, but this hotel charges you for every little bottle that you use. The breakfast was the same every day, no change at all so you have to eat the same every single day. As a positive point, they are very close to the beach and the hotel is located in the safe zone of Copacabana, we didn’t use the pool because it was full every day and the other amenities are closed.

It was a very bad experience overall. The room had huge amount of mold in the bathroom and staff was arguing that the room was ok until their maintenance person came to see it personally. Overall staff were unpleasant except the guy at the main door who was great

I am so disgusted with this property, 1st upon arrival which was hours before check in I was told I would have to pay $R20 to hold my luggage why do I have to pay to hold luggage at a hotel I paid to stay at? Ok fine we changed and went to the pool which opened at 9 and it was about 10ish, the gentleman working the pool area was so rude and dismissive. I stood in front of him while he deliberately ignored me when all I wanted to ask was how I can gets a towel which there were about 50 behind him clean and ready to go. He finally looks up and I ask for a towel and he tells me I have to wait 5 min. Why am I waiting? The pool opened over an hour ago, and then moments later acknowledged and gave towels to locals. Then at around 2ish I went to check in and was told I booked for one person which wasn’t true I booked a double bed room for 2ppm and needed to pay for an additional person so now I’m seeing a rude money extorting trend. Finally get to the room which was decent, a little outdated and well no USB outlets. Yes I am aware I am in another country but I’ve yet to travel to a hotel that doesn’t have a usb. Asking the staff for help or a question seemed to be a bother which was so strange since you work in a hotel and foreigners will probably have questions. The buffets is the absolute best part and only good part. maybe that’s why there were so many good reviews but I am shocked at how many good reviews there where when the staff was so rude and unhelpful.

Honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Place is way outdated, and the pictures are not quite representative of the current state of the roomThere was mold on the walls, and the room beyond tiny. It smells very old. They would give you the iron for a charging fee. Luckily the staff was nice.

Good hotel and value for money. Clean, good breakfast. With a late night flight, leaving luggage for small fee safely and spend rest of day at rooftop pool area is a great option. A suggestion is to train the lobby staff to help out frontdesk staff with additional responsabilities when it is peak check in or check out.

The hotel is very old and lacks maintenance on many ends. You see things falling apart everywhere. The overall hotel is more like a 2/3 star hotel by western standards. Location is good just 2 blocks from the beach, not too loud and safe. The staff was also helpful when we approached them. We didn’t have a problem with our toddler at all. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t come again since the hotel is very old and not so clean (we had 2 cockroaches in our room).

Staff were exceptional, courteous and friendly. Our rooms were newly upgraded / decorated it seemed, as was the hotel it seemed. Near to beach and all amenities. Included breakfast was good too, with lots of choice.

Great Hotel near Copacabana Beach.
This was a great 18 story hotel, with a rooftop pool located three short blocks from Copacabana Beach. Across the street you have a Domino's pizza and Subway near by. If you like local food, there's an unlimited supply of outdoor restaurants at your doorstep. The hotel was always clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. Stayed here for 4 nights and had no problems

I made my reservation e Expedia, from the moment got there they tried to tell me that next time I should call the hotel not book w Expedia. The parking was $60 BRL a day I was charged $100, and the front desk told me that I was making up , I should him and him said I probably use the information from other places. I had to pay or leave on the street and get robbed

Location is good. On entrance appears great. However. we were on the 6th floor where you have to pass stairs. With a buggy/stroller and a baby this is far from practical. Room was on the small side for 2 people and a baby. Breakfast was good, can be quite busy. The elderly Portugues gentleman that appeared to be the manager of this section was quite rude to my partner with our baby. I have visited Rio quite a few times and we wont be returning to this hotel.

Best aspect of the hotel is the complimentary breakfast which includes numerous options to suit any palate. The building is old and in need of many repairs. My family was stuck in the elevator on two occasions (first time for almost 2 hours). There was one elevator out of service for the majority of my 10 day stay. My shower hot and cold controls did not work resulting in my wife and 6 year old almost getting scolded on the first night. Repairs conducted by hotel staff afterwards barely fixed the problem requiring the temperature controls to be reset consistently throughout shower. Minibar only had water inside and remote control for tv had dead batteries. They were never replaced even after a couple of assurances from hotel staff. Building air conditioning stopped working on my second last day and was not fixed before my check out. Doormen and cleaning staff were very polite and helpful. The gym has about 6 treadmills and one recumbent bike. 4 of the treadmills did not work and the bike vibrated too much while peddling to use for more than a couple minutes. Al of there cardio equipment needs to be replaced. There was no microwave in the rooms or building for guest use so heating leftover food was not an option. There are many restaurants, cafes, shops and grocery options within walking distance, it to mention the famed Copacabana beach which is very convenient.

Great location but not a 4* hotel!
Great location but not a 4* hotel! Fantastic location close to the beach and all of the tours we booked offered pick up at the hotel or within a 2 minute walk. Close to some fantastic restaurants too. The outside and the hotel reception are lovely and modern but the rooms are basic, old and falling apart in places. Our room had very little natural light, as the tiny window faced another building. Rooftop pool is pretty nice though, and the buffet breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The gym was actually quite dangerous - the weights machines definitely need recalibrating and the aircon was dripping with buckets on the floor to catch the water. Overall, a decent choice if you don’t plan on spending much time in the hotel, but definitely not 4*.
