The hotel is very close to some beautiful spots in Iceland. We chose it so that we could spend two nights and move from there to different points; it was a great decision! We managed to be out the whole day and came back for really great dinners. We enjoyed our stay very much; the staff made it even more enjoyable.

It would be better if a hairdryer is in the room. The light of the public lady’s washing room (beside the restaurant) is out of light.

Of all the hotels we stayed over 11 nights, this hotel was the most average. On the plus side, the reception-lobby area has a lovely sitting area for complimentary tea, coffee and cocoa. Our room was relatively large. Convenient to Skógafoss (great hiking) and Skógar Folk Museum (not to be missed). On the negative side, large tour groups stay at this hotel, which made it noisy. The shower was tepid (perhaps just ours?). While the dining area has wonderful views, the food for breakfast and dinner is meh. Recommend dinner down the road at Gamla fjósið. Don't forget to fill up with petrol/gasoline; nearest petrol/gas station is Vik.

Convenient location
This was our first night in Iceland and just an overnight. The room was small but clean. The bathroom did have a little odor as mentioned in other posts but we kept the bathroom door closed so it did not get into the room. In the morning the odor was gone. It was a small but clean room. We had dinner and a drink in their dining room which was very convient for us. Food was good. The morning breakfast was good also. For just 1 night this place was fine.
