Crystal Villa - December 23rd through December 30th
Overall, our party of 11 enjoyed our stay at the Crystal Villa. The house is very spacious. The kitchen is large and functional. There are lots of areas to hang out without feeling overcrowded. The best part of the house in my opinion is the view and the patio area. The view is spectacular. The adults mostly hung out on the patio mornings and evenings soaking up the view and sunshine.
Our check-in process was smooth. We actually arrived at the house a bit early and the property management team was kind enough to allow us to check in early (2 hours early). Neko, the property manager was great. We exchanged many text messages and emails prior to arrival in an effort to make our time at the rental care free. He also, helped us find a rental car after our original rental car fell through.
There were a couple of snafus that were remedied. Namely, the hot water in the downstairs bathrooms were turned off and we were missing face towels. The owners remedied the situation by the next day. While on the topic of bathrooms. The downstairs bathrooms are small with limited counter space.
The house doesn’t include a typical formal dining room. There’s an area off the kitchen that include a round table with seating for four. In fact, we figured that out before arriving and asked the owner to include a larger table as we were planning to have Christmas dinner there. They provided two folding tables and chairs. We made it work.
All of the bedrooms had adequate AC except for the common areas such as the living room and dining area. It often felt warm and a bit stuffy in these rooms. There are plenty of nice, big windows that we kept open most of the day to keep fresh air coming through.
We didn't have daily housekeeping service but Mike, the owner stopped by daily to clean up the patio and check the pool.
Additional areas of improvements that would have made our stay a little more enjoyable include the following:
• Bath mats in each bathroom
• Wine glasses
• Kitchen broom
• TV in the shared space – i.e., Living room
• Shower curtain in the downstairs bathroom to keep the shower water from dripping on the floor.
I can’t give it a five star rating but with a few improvements this house can easily receive a five star rating.
