Not as clean as expected. Didn't have flat sheet for the bedding, and saw some bugs in the bedroom. Good that late checkin was smooth. The receptionist was not available in person until very late in AM, but she is very friendly.

Location was great. Although the lack of air con is a big issue and everything’s a bit dated and sad. It could do with a spruce and lick of paint. Which they can definitely afford to do with the amount they charge, especially for the extras like washing machines and lockers. I paid an 8th of the price for hostels in south east Asia with better amenities and quality, And they felt like 5 star hotels. The WiFi was absolute garbage as well. It all feels a bit stingy, they really cut corners to save money, when they could do with air con, better WiFi (it’s the 21st century), electric locks, free luggage storage like the rest of the world.

I paid for a 2-person girls only room. I was placed in a room with 6 other girls and one of them handed her key out to anyone including men. It was a total mess

It's a backpackers, roughing it is a no brainer. Sam was super friendly, the rest was so-so. What was promised on website was not accurate, needs updating.

Great helpful staff, great location and good value
Great staff VERY helpful. Fantastic location a few minutes from Kings Cross and walkable to Opera House area.Botanical Gardens etc, or take the BRILLIANT Sydney transport system, limited to $16 a day anywhere. Great value for money, it is a back packers but everyone was really curious and it was not noisy. $20 key deposit, $1 for cup, but free breakfast, toast, cereal, tea / coffee worked well. If you stay 3 nights or more you get free airport pickup, put the trip back is not free but only $16.

Pretty good spot
Nice place, helpful staff, well maintained and clean. Quiet enough at night. The free WiFi is pretty bad and the free breakfast is bread and cereal and it’s only available from 7-9a. Otherwise no complaints. Great location too.

Room as described. Was charged twice in error (once by LastMinute, once at Jolly Swagman) but they were able to arrange refund without any probs. Lack of cooking equipment for kitchen but apart from that all good, great location, parking close by and friendly staff.

I did not realise that a towel was not included in the night's stay as Usually this is included even in backpacker accommodation. As I was flying out the next day I had to buy a towel at the airport and use the shower there...

Just dirty and uncomfortable. Too many beds in too little space. Pretty sure one of the bunk beds was jury-rigged. There are many options in the area, choose one of them instead.

By Sydney standards it was a clean backpackers. However, window in dorm could not be closed to keep our cold and the bathrooms were old and dingy. A decent stay for a Sydney backpackers but definitely nothing that stood out as great.

Great Weekend Stay
This place was pretty cool, perfect for our two night stay. It had been awhile since I've stayed in a hostel, so I proper laughed when they 'upgraded' me from a 6 bed to 4 bed room. Overall was great, would highly recommend.

DO NOT STAY - See Pics
Would not recommmend. Cockroaches. Smelly. Stuffy. No aircon. Strict rules (can't use hair dryer, straighteners, sprays in room). Breakfast too early. Mattress covered in bad substance. Dodgy area. (See photos). Fridge pushes heat into hot non aircon room (the fan won't hep). I just booked in mad monkeys on broadway; so much better - same price!

Staff was kind but room was too hot, smelly and dirty. My wife and I booked 3 bed dorm. And there was one person who has been living there as long term so he didnt care to clean and organise the room. We felt not happy about that. Apart from that, we felt safe in the backpackers and their rule was very organised

Good value for money but a bit loud
Walls quite thin and creaky floorboards so earplugs handy. You have to hand your key in at reception to use pots and pans, which is a bit annoying. However, lots of space to cook, free breakfast (although basic) was useful, hot showers, and the private double has its own fridge and sink (great because the bathrooms were quite small). Bit dated but fun and practical.
