This is a great old hotel, which has been well maintained and renovated. Renovations include an elevator. The rooms are spacious and clean, and it's quiet most of the time. The exception is weekends: there are live bands playing downstairs, and it's really noisy. The bass and drums were vibrating through the floor and bed frame (my room was on the second floor). It didn't stop until midnight,, and I was jet lagged from my flight. The area around the hotel has lots of excellent eateries, cafes, and shopping, including a walking mall across the street.

This destination was inspired by an episode of Travel Guides Australia and it certainly didn't disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the Deluxe Queen Room with a balcony. The rooftop bar was awesome and the meals were very good. Location is in walking distance of most activities. The only issue we had was that our stay coincided with a music festival that kept us awake for a good chunk of our first night. Presumably this was a one off. Lauren in reception went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

This hotel is really nice, very spacious room, central location and staff are very friendly and helpful. Sound proofing of room was pretty good, could only hear faint noises on the weekend and main noise from people walking around rooftop bar. The hotel rates were cheaper if you book direct with the hotel and they had food vouchers available.

The room was so nicely appointed and comfortable in every sense. Plus having the foyer outside the rooms mean no immediate neighbors. The only issue is the parking is a bit hard but got there in the end.

Lovely comfortable and clean room. The music from below and surrounding venues made it a bit hard to sleep but the earplugs provided were helpful ish. Great location and the restaurant was great.

Perfect location to walk to shops and dining. Pub, restaurant, and rooftop bar on-site. Our room had a huge balcony. If you like to go to bed quite early it may be a little noisy from street noise and the pub down stairs.

Loved staying at The National on our first trip to WA. Great room and balcony. Never heard any street noise or music when windows closed. Easy access to walking and seeing the city as tourists. Loved our stay and the history

We loved it! Room was amazing, all of the staff were helpful and super friendly! Roof top bar was fun, downstairs a band played until late... we didnt mind the noise but be warned... What a great venue and a great weekend in vibrant Freo! We will be back!

The history of the place and the presentation was fascinating. It was accessible to many places walking, eating. Lift access to the rooms or rooftop did not detract in anyway from its history and the booklet in the room was special. The room itself was tasteful spacious, the only issue we had was sleeping with the aircon running all night, something we're not used to. Staff were extremely helpful

Excellent accommodation. Spacious clean and modern room Accommodation is above noisy pub but on third floor we did not hear much of that - but we did hear the rooftop bar above us! Sharing the one elevator with streams of incoming and outgoing rooftop bar patrons was a nuisance

Room was lovely but we made a bad choice with dinner on the balcony. Cold and windy. 21st b’day inside, so very noisy. Understood why we had earplugs in our room too. Band and pub noise very loud, but not offensive, ie I can sleep with noise and the music was good 😁

We had a lovely staycation at The National Hotel. Check-in was easy. Parking is provided at the above ground carpark on Collie St and it was was an extra $25. The room was well equipped, clean and secure. We were on the 2nd floor and unfortunately the room wasn't sound proof as we could hear the band downstairs. All in all, a great property to experience.
