Comfortable and convenient
The people there are helpful. Do note that the cafe is vegetarian. The hotel had its heyday and its infrastructure need some upgrading. Else, it is comfortable.

Convenient, checking in is fast and reasonable price considering being in the island part of Penang. Lift is rather slow, crowded morning buffet breakfast and parking ticket not working even after validation, have to make way to the front desk again and again.

The room was spacious and comfortable.My complain is about TV is small, reception is poor and not bed facing.. View was scenic. The bell boys were approachable and helpful.

The hotel was clean and maintained relatively well.
However, despite being non smoking out hotel room frequently smelled like cigarette smoke as it came through the ventilation. There was also no bottom sheet on the bed, and the top sheet applied as a bottom sheet would not stay on the bed. No hand towels were provided.

They are too slow and the Safety box was not working
I called them many times but the problem has not been solved until my check out .
They have old safety boxes
The sheets were not clean as their were bed bugs in my bed.

Room cleaning service did not change my bedsheets and pillow cases for each of the 4 nights I stayed there. The cleaners came to clean in the unusual hours in noons while I was having my nap. The furnishings like wardrobe, cabinets and bathroom facilities are old and drab looking.

Lousy property. They could not find my reservation when we checked in at 9pm exhausted from our journey.
After 30 mins wait, they gave us room keys and later found that only one elevator works. It takes a minimum of another 30 mins to be able to board the elevator. Same with coming down. Rooms are in need of desperate renovation. Bathroom fittings Rusty and dirty. Never again to this Place !!!

We have opened up two of our service elevators to our guests, in addition to the two out of three guest elevators that are still functional. too old, too dirty, poor services, needs a complete overhaul, no proper ramp for the disabled. rooms poorly maintained. bath too high for elderly people to climb into for a shower and many other problems too much to mention. Charges high for the services offered.

very worn out hotel
hotel is extremely old and dated. the fabrics and upholstery is worn and the bathroom is in fairly poor shape.... we had to cover the chairs with a towel as we frankly had no confidence in the cleanliness. beds were not confortable at best. hotel surroundings were really nice with plenty of stuff to eat. i however don't think i would consider staying in this hotel again

Strongly not recommended. The furnitures and fittings in the room which I am staying are very old. The laminated flooring is acceptable. There is no hair dryer provided, you need to ask for it. The so called 4 stars are overrated. To me, I give a rating of less than 2 stars.
