Looking to escape to the fresh country air? Just 2 hours drive from northern Sydney this sandstone homestead (built with 135 year old convict bricks) offers it all! Located just a few km from the historic village of Paterson in the Northern Hunter, immerse yourself in the privacy and quiet of 28 acres of private bushland to explore (you can bring the pets too!) There are amazing creeks and waterfalls on your doorstep to swim in during the hot summer months, and beautiful open fires to relax in front of on those cosy winter nights. Enjoy the quirky ‘loo with a view!’ Maitland is just 20 mins drive away with all the history, shopping, restaurants and facilities of a buzzing country town. Newcastle, Nelson Bay and beautiful beaches are just 1 hour away. The closest Hunter vineyards are just 13km away with the whole Hunter wine region to explore on a day trip! Relax at the end of the day watching the sunset with a wine on the verandah overlooking the beautiful ‘Tocal’ countryside! Lovely holiday house
Very good accommodation in a beautiful country location. Rooms are great, ample for our group of nine, and facilities generally good. We stayed last year for five nights over Xmas and did the same this year. Had a great time overall. Negatives are the cleanliness of things like saucepans, knives and some drawers, the amount of food left in fridge door and cupboards (some looks pretty old), and the bluntness of all the knives (knife sharpener would help). These things are readily fixable, which would make our rating a good four star. And thanks for the lovely Xmas decorations.

Great Stay
We rented the property for our Daughters wedding. It was ideal for all the people we had coming and going on the Saturday morning. Then after the wedding a couple of days were spent relaxing out on the veranda.

Great wedding Accommodation
We chose this property to stay for a family wedding. It was a perfect choice. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. There was plenty light for the wedding party to have hair and make up done and photographs taken. The pantry staples are very generous, loads of coffee capsules and tea flavours to choose. The kitchen is well equipped with all kinds of appliances. It was a cold wet weekend but the heating worked well to make the whole house cosy. Highly recommend this property.

Easter Weekend Wedding in the Hunter
The house was perfect for us as we had a range of ages from 27 to 87 staying, including 2 dogs! We were warmly welcomed, everything was exactly what we had asked, plus more. The instructions of where to go for a walk were great and we enjoyed the surrounding creeks. Loved the flexibility as we could have housed more overnight guests had we needed to - Very accommodating host - Thanks for a truly memorable weekend!

Beautiful Homestead
We stayed here for my wedding with the bridal party and it was amazing. The homestead, rooms and grand staircase made for amazing photos. We did have a small hiccup but Sarah was so quick to assist and resolve. With the recent floods the driveway was a bit damaged and some of our smaller cars struggled. Would highly recommend this homestead!

Beautiful house in a lovely rural town
The house is lovely and is beautifully decorated. The views were so pretty from the property looking through the valley. Keep in mind that the driveway is unsealed and quite steep. My little hatchback made it up but might be smart to take a larger car if you have one. Only issue for us was that the sofa beds described in one of the rooms were actually located at the top of the stairs in a walkway, which we weren’t aware of until we arrived. Other than that we enjoyed really enjoyed our stay.

5 star holiday house
This holiday house is totally much beautiful than the photos online, either from the view outside of the house, or the decorations inside the house; Owner provided the huge bowl of coffee capsules and whole drawer of tea, very well equipped kitchen, even have food processor, which amazed our four families! The owner was very welcoming and gave us a champagne and chocolates which touched us! We all agree this is the best holiday house we have ever stayed in!
