I had to go back down twice and my key card did not work; I was in the hotel and the room shower was so hot the temperate would not change. Called the front desk and no one came to check on the water or help me out.

The room was expensive for one night (over £350) and the experience did not reflect that. Only one window blind worked in the room and the bathroom looked grubby. Our included breakfast was chaotic - we were ordered to wait for a table and then when we got one had to wait 15 minutes for the buffet to be replenished, toast was only on one side, coffee was awful - won't be staying in Malmaison again sadly.

Loved the hotel and how you can definitely still tel it was a former prison. Would give the hotel a rating of 5 but the restaurant needs serious work. We had dinner and breakfast there and the service is atrocious, there appears to be no process or order to the way it is run. Very disappointing. I recommend staying at the hotel but eating elsewhere.

Great property. Nice rooms. Great location. Nice staff. No working air conditioning.

We Have stayed here before and really enjoyed our two day break so we re booked to stay again Very disappointed this time Under staffed poor maintenance in our bathroom smell from drains was disgusting we went one whole day without a shower because is smelt that bad service in the breakfast was slow it was easier to get the items we asked for ourselves Cutlery, Butter, and COLD toast !! we did enjoy oxford very much as we always do but after asking for our room to be checked and the smell removed nothing was done, We paid a lot of money for this break away and was offered only £57.00 parking discount ( Very poor ) Sadley a great place to stay but we wont stay again

Long wait for check-in. Reception desk was totally understaffed. Room was nice, attractive and quiet but the shower was not useable! There was a warning card in the shower that it could get too hot. Actually it was scalding and no way to regulate.

Very cool hotel with some interesting history . Fantastic job of renovating into a hotel. Bar has great drinks, and the courtyard is a nice place to sit after a day in Oxford.
