This hotel was a very pleasant stay. Room was comfortable and staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their guests and business. I was immediately informed about the VIP accommodations and when needing to stay and extra staff it was an easy booking. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The shuttle to the hotel to/from Osaka Station is priceless. Staff at the hotel and operating the shuttle are good examples of who and what Japan is as a people and culture. Thank you!

Staff were friendly and spoke English, food was tasty and the shuttle bus to Osaka station was great. The only issue was the swimming pool cost was not included in the stay.

I loved everything about the place. It was clean and staff were always willing to help. I wish there were more vegetarian options in the restaurants though. Everything else was wonderful!

The hotel could be better.
We had a great time and enjoyed staying at this hotel. The hotel guidance is very complicated and needs to be more straightforward. For example, there needs to be information or directions next to the floor button on the elevator about where the main lobby is. I need a map display in the main lobby or to find where the restaurant I should go to to have breakfast. Everything could be organized better. The cleanliness, updated room, food, and services are good. The hotel men would need to communicate with customers simply by asking, for example, how their stay or day went. The hotel would need to communicate by considering the customer's side. That would make me feel more welcome and warm. Other than that, thank you very much.

Very nice hotel. But don’t use hotels.com to book. My queen bed was actually a twin. Reservation said Queen but the fine print described bed size (and non smoking room) as a special request. Booked same Righa Royal chain in Tokyo using B***.com and got the bed I booked.

The entrance into property and lobby really make this hotel. Definitely was a WOW factor. But once you get up to the rooms, you can see the hotel is dated and older. The only complaint about the room is no air conditioner. Presentation of the hotel was awesome, staff was awesome, location was right next to subway entrance, and the basement mall was great! I would definitely stay here again, just not during the hotter months where A/C is a must.

This hotel has a very convenient location 20 mins walk from Osaka Station. The hotel has also a bus service to get to Osaka Station. The room was very clean and large. The hotel has a swimming pool and gym which I didn't use. I'll definitely stay there once again on my next trip to Osaka.

The RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka was my home the week of Thanksgiving 2023. For starters, check-in was easy and quick. Helps that the staff spoke English. It was excellent service from the staff all around. The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were great too. Especially the grooming items (razors & shaving cream). Beds were comfortable, leaning towards firm (mattress) - on a scale of 1-10, 10 being hard, it was a 6.5. Water pressure was great and temperature was nice and scalding hot, like I like. Utilized the mini fridge - not the TV though. Only stayed in the room to sleep and shower. Only thing I would change if I could - is for the hotel to be closer to the train stations. It was about a fifteen minute walk. Which isn't bad except when you're lugging around all the merch and or food you bought. Million dollar question - would I stay here again? Yes. Definitely yes.

There were a free shuttle bus between hotel and osaka station. It was very helpful. And also there is non-stop express bus between osaka station and kix airport.

I stayed in this hotel 39 years ago and very little has regretfully changed. While the lobby is looks nice, the rooms haven’t been upgraded since the 1980s. Foreigners are put into a section of the hotel that is rundown and in desperate need of a massive overhaul. When I asked to be moved they claimed to be sold out. It was only after I showed them online sites that showed available rooms, that suddenly they “found” rooms. The rooms absurdly small, making a cruise ship cabin seem spacious. There are no HVAC in most rooms. The hotel is either in “heat” or “AC” mode. You can not switch between the two. So if the hotel has decided to be in “heat” mode and your room is stuffy, the hotel will suggest you “apply a wet towel to your head”. Stay at another hotel. You’ll regret every moment at this hotel.

Insanely clean and comfortable hotel. Front desk staff even gave me advice where to find good IZAKAYAS and OKONOMIYAKI restaurants. With FREE shuttle service to Osaka station - how can you go wrong?

Free transfer to Osaka station was super efficient and easy; concierge team were amazing; I found the beds very comfy with snuggly duvets that were very warm; bathroom amenities included hair brush, toothbrush & paste, hair products, face wash/lotion (fantastic product), earbuds, razors.... Basically everything.

Take advantage of the free shuttle
This is a decent hotel overall, seems to be a bit of a throwback. We got a good price on a room and were aware before the stay that we might be in one of the “dated” rooms which you will read about in other reviews. We were upgraded for free as the room we booked was not available, and this allowed us a lot more space which was welcome. The room was indeed dated and had a musty smell, but this didn’t bother us too much as we used Ōsaka as a base to explore and weren’t in the room all that much. *There are a couple of metro stations nearby but the hotel offers a free shuttle which we used a lot. Whilst we were aware of the shuttle beforehand, we didn’t realise how often we would use it, this was a massive bonus. It goes from the hotel to Osaka Station (and back).* All the staff were lovely and helped us ship our luggage to Tokyo, as Yamato picks up from the hotel. There are several restaurants and shops under the hotel, which is handy if you have some time to kill.

The property was a high-end hotel for business travelers and had a good location for such guests. However, the pool was closed (one of the reasons I had for booking) and the fitness room required a 6600 yen supplemental charge per visit ($45)! These fees are not expected at a luxury hotel that promotes its amenities as a differentiator. There are better choices.
