Very charming hotel! Wish we had more time to stay. The property feels very much like a ski lodge and I'm sure is gorgeous in the winter. Just as nice and more quiet in the summer! We ate at the more casual restaurant - great food and enjoyed having drinks on the rooftop patio. We didn't have a chance to swim in the heated pool but it looked lovely. We loved learning that some of the Lord of the Rings cast stayed here when they were filming! 10/10 recommend

The breakfast was very good, the pool was fantastic and the Aperol Spritz was even better. Love the spaciousness of the rooms. We would highly recommend!!!!

Amazing hotel.
Amazing hotel. Very close to ski hills and volcano. Food and beer were great. Very comfy rooms. easy parking. The only thing is ask for a room far from the automatic door as the knock on the wall when they open and it might disturb you at night.

Looks a little tired around the edges. Staff lovely, but definitely some where new to hospitality. Restaurant menu in the evening wasn’t bad but the food was disappointing especially the lamb rump. Really hope you continue to improve as it’s a great site!

Accommodation was great. Restaurant as part of the accommodation was disappointing. You couldn’t book a table for a meal, and therefore couldn’t get a table for a meal without a long wait. Menu was limited as well.

Absolutely love this place! This is our favourite accommodation in Ohakune. The rooms are spacious, the pool is lovely after a day on the slopes, the restaurant so easy! The ski and board shop for repairs , tuning etc on the premises so handy too. Only negative is - in this time of compulsory mask wearing, the receptionist didn’t wear one at all in the 3 days we were there . She was in close contact with every guest that arrived on her shifts and the distancing at times was less than 1/2 a metre, It made me feel uneasy even though everyone else is sanitising and mask wearing I would’ve thought the front of house should set an example.

Our receptionist you saw without a mask has a medical exemption and does have a sign sitting on the bench stating so but with so many Covid signs around at the moment it is easy to miss. Great Huge old Building in super good condition. Has an indoor underground pool that is heated to about 39 degrees and you can order drinks in the pool while soaking after a long day !! classic like being in the 70s , had a blast Pool towels all provided. so much fun.

Upon checking in the ready room was different than one we requested. We requested for queen and sofa bed but was provided with queen and single. But that’s all fine as the receptionist made it work switching to another room. As a result checking in was taking a bit of time to our liking. However, the main reason we were willing to paid $300 a night was it’s advertised to have an indoor pool. They do have an indoor pool but what they forgot to mention was children under 5yo are not allowed in the pool. Hence this ruined our holiday as my youngest kid (4yo) was looking forward to the pool. Also, the room was cold. The staff said the room hasn’t been used for a while and that’s why. The aircon fixed it though. Apart from cold, the room is quite dark. I think they need one or 2 more floor lamps. Verdict: We would try another accomodation next.
