"Walk out of the hotel and literally toji station is across, lawson to the left, bus stop to the right. Few restaurants around. Quiet at night."

"This is a wonderful ryokan. The building, location and room are great. we got the room with an partial open air bath and it was excellent. The staff was professional, kind and helpful. We felt very welcome even as foreigners. I do wish that expedia would list the schedule for the dining options because the Ryokan restaurants are only open certain days and require reservation so we missed out on dinner. It's a bit of a long walk from the train station but not terrible. It should also be noted on the expedia page that they will pick you up but you have to schedule 48hrs in advance."

"The room was very nice. I liked the free welcome drink per day. The smoking section was nice. All employees I interacted with were very nice. My only complaints are the lack of outlets in the room. There's not really any outlets near the bed. And the wifi not being very good. In other hotels I've stayed at in Japan, each room had it's own individual wifi and was faster. But it was only a 7 minute walk from the shinkansen train station. Two 7-11s within a 3 minute walk. Many shrines within a 20 minute walk. Breakfast was pretty good! But get to breakfast super early because it can sell out. Overall I had a really good time here, nothing major to complain about. Just small nitpicky things. "

"This is a great affordable option in Kyoto. Steps away from the K line subway and two stops from Kyoto Station. It has an onsite onsen which was very clean and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well. There are no English language options on TV. The breakfast buffet was OK, but very crowded right at opening. For the price, this is a terrific place to stay."
