We were very pleased with this hotel! It is easy walking distance from Waikiki beach, and from other Waikiki shopping and dining options. The pool is very small, and often shaded. The staff sometimes had difficulty giving directions and suggestions about local eating, etc, but those are easily researched elsewhere. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
One great feature of the Coconut Waikiki was free entry to the Bishop Museum, a spectacular resource about Hawaiian history. We had not heard about this museum on other sites or research about Honolulu, but it was a highlight of our 2-week stay in the islands. Don't miss it!
We booked an Uber from a 4th-floor room, and didn't realize that Location had reported an address on the next street over. That was easily remedied, but something to watch out for.
We will stay at the Coconut Waikiki again if we visit Honolulu.
