Very surprising hidden gem...
Our stay was outstanding. This is centrally located to most of the main action. Easily in walking distance to history, art, museums, sights, food, entertainment and yes beer. Our host, Christoph is extremely helpful and certainly more than willing to assist in questions and recommendations. His service was prompt. Truly wants to make your travel and stay as comfortable and enjoyable. This is definitely a place to consider when traveling to Munich. Would definitely book again.

Pension am Jakobsplatz is less like staying in a hotel and more like staying with your cousin who has a great apartment in the heart of where you want to be. It is physically small—only four small guest rooms and a small common area for breakfast—but it has a large heart. The staff is exceptionally thoughtful and you can tell they love their hotel.

The boutique hotel located in a prime location. It is only a few minutes away, walking distance, to the marketplace station. It is actually in the old town centre. You have access to everywhere. No, bus or tram required, to go to the landmark. At first, I was going to cancel the hotel room. it is because it is shared toilet. Luckily, I believe there is a technical issue that my message didn’t get to the hotel regarding the cancellation. So, when I checked into the hotel, I realised I only need to share the toilet, with one room. The other two rooms have their own bathroom. I have my own shower and sink in my room. If I ever come back to Munich I would definitely stay in this hotel again no doubt at all. Chris and other girl they are extremely friendly.

A penchant for pensiones.
A pensione is a different experience than a hotel. Smaller accomodations, but clean and quiet. Only 4 rooms so everyone staying was considerate to keep noise to almost nil. If shared bathroom is an issue then do not use, but once again the other guests were very nice and considerate. This was a very good value for the money. Room enough for two people per room. Stand up shower sufficient. Marienplatz is at your door step - so much to do as soon as you leave the pensione. Lots of walking, get your exercise and experience the best of Munich. Morning breakfast provided gives you an energy headstart.

Wonderful 3 night stay at Pension Jakobsplatz!!
Kristof and his staff were wonderful: friendly, reliable and helpful for 1st time visitors from the US. breakfast was delicious. We had to leave very early at the end of our stay and Kristof prepared breakfast for us and left it in the fridge. He also answered all of our questions. The only surprise was that we shared a hall toilet with another room. We had a sink and shower in our room. Two of the other rooms had a complete private bathroom. Just check to make sure if that bothers you. It was no problem for us. The toilet was clean and never had to wait to use it. Very, very convenient and close to all the best Munich has to offer. Thanks Kristof!!
