The owner appears to be grumpy at first, but is actually a generous person. When he learned that I come with my partner instead alone and that we'll stay two nights instead of one he upgraded us from basic to standard room at no extra cost. Big thumbs up.

Old but clean and comfortable!
Old and really run down, stuck in a time warp, but comfortable bed and pillows and had a good night’s sleep! Good for an overnighter if you’re not fussed!

Danielle, All of the above could have been easily fixed by contacting reception. ALL AIRCONS ARE LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD. It is not my problem that you do not have the capacity to work a split system A/C, ALL you need to do is ask.

Staff were very good as we arrived late but they contacted us by phone.to confirm our arrival and left the key for us in a convenient location with the light on in room.

The hotel room is very basic. There is no microwave and the TV did not work. A panel on the bathscreen is missing.

There was no one at reception when I went to go check in. Instead there was a note on the door saying which room I am in and where the key is. And when I arrived at the room the key was in the door, not where it was supposed to be. Aside from this hiccup the stay was lovely. Could have benefitted from a hairdryer but other than that it is a great little stay for a budget price.

Don’t judge by first impressions. The property has seen better days, but we need to remember a lot of places have struggled since Covid hit. We arrived and were greeted by Jim, who was welcoming and told us our room was ready. The room was basic, but had a fridge, toaster, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Sure the bathroom was a tight fit, but again, it was clean did the job. The beds were comfy as well. We had an issue with the TV reception and Jim came over and fixed it straight away. The Wifi was hit and miss, but that happens at a lot of places. Overall, we were happy with the service Jim and Suzy provided and would happily stay here again. It’s hidden away but central to many nearby places.

Centrally located hotel
The hotel is located at an excellent location, just about 10-15 minute walk to Lady Nelson Visitor Centre, Engelbrecht Cave and the Cave Gardens. Other attractions such as the Blue Lake and Umpherston Sinkhole, are just a quick taxi ride away. The hotel is clean although already a bit dated. It would also be good to have provided a face or hand towel and not just the bath towel.

we stayed 4 nights in this little motel and it did the job for us, clean & tidy , bed was a bit uncomfortable (but it was only for 4 nights) so that was ok, the bathroom door needed a new handle,and the front door was sticky, but they were miner little things that we did tell the owners about, but we had a great time in Mount Gambier.

Good host. Cheap rates = very dated property. STRONGLY suggest cleaning the black moles off the ceiling in two of the four bedrooms. Otherwise good value for the asking price. HUGE space for a big group to stretch out.

It was very disappointing.. looked like Bates Hotel from Psycho.. Run down, rusted, Deep pot holes everywhere in driveway, fire alarm broken, bathroom old and rusted out.. overall a motel I would not ever visit again.
