We arrived after an 8 hour drive looking forward to a glass of wine on our terrace overlooking the sea. There were few issues.
Firstly, we booked a room with a Sea View and balcony.
The balcony was large, but as the hotel acknowledged, there was no sea view from this room. It was blocked by trees. Instead, it was just a balcony overlooking a fairly busy road. "Not my fault and we are fully booked" said the hotel employee. No gesture of apology. Lovely.
Secondly, on Sundays there is not only no restaurant but there's no bar service. There's also no minibar or fridge in the room. No drinks on the terrace for us.
Plan B: Head into the main village for a drink. The village of Eze is charming and delightful (although not particularly close!). We were told a bus departed every 10 minutes, but in fact it was twice an hour. We chose to drive instead of missing the sun, and left our car in a car park in the village (25 EUR overnight). The old town was delightful and the real highlight of the trip.
The restaurant and grounds were great. Service and food were 10/10. Huge portions of quality food.
The room was TINY. No drawers, only 4 hangers, and no space to keep a suitcase open (see pics). There was good sound proofing from the road but we could hear guests going up and down the stairs - internal sound proofing could be improved.
If we had been given the room we chose, or if the hotel at least acknowledged its issue, overall impressions would have been better.
