Traditional residence "Mylopetra" was built by the Manolarakis family in 1890 in the village of Armacha. Its architecture is tied to the natural landscape. The materials used for its construction are stone, clay, and wood. It was renovated with love and respect in its history in 2014 by Despoina Maragaki. It retains all the authentic features of the architecture of its time: arched arches, wine presses, wall recesses, beams, patios.
It consists of 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, a bathroom, a kitchen, a communal space with a fireplace and a cellar. In the main yard the main characteristic is the old walnut, and underneath there is a gray millstone; a table for the hot summer days. Additionally, right next to millstone, there is a wood oven. Fruit trees, almond tree, flowers and local aromatic plants surround the main yard. The entrance of the house is orientated to the east. There is an additional bedroom of a resent construction on the roof top. Most furnishings have an old authentic Cretan style. Inside the house there are usable and decorative objects which are family heirlooms. Heating: Fireplace, cast-iron stove, radiator. The interior of the house is on two levels and communicates with 3 steps. Guests have the option of using the external wood oven upon request. There is also a barbecue grill. The welcoming will be from the hosts. Optionally, excursions to the area, traditional bread making and baking in the wood-burning oven, cheese making, as well as activities related to alternative tourism can be organized.
