Unit 6 overlooking Bancroft Bay was a great spot to spend a few days. Everything in Metung was within walking distance of the apartment and we only had to use the car for day trips. The few downsides were a neighbour’s tree banging against the apartment wall on a windy night that kept us awake, limited storage space and no pantry. The view from the balcony is spectacular capped off with beautiful sunrises.

This property is a great modern style and layout, has high quality appliances and fittings. Heated towel rails, heated tiles, electric blinds, large shower heads and a spa bath. The only thing it is missing is an electric blanket. The master bedroom upstairs doesn’t have a door to block off the stairs so is unsafe for children. Great parking and a short walk to the river and lovely little cafe’s.

Our vehicle broke down on route to the property at about 5.30pm. It had to be towed to Orbost. We were completely unable to get to Metung. Unsuccessful attempts were made to contact the venue . Efforts were also made to contact Wotif. We are hoping the misfortune of a breakdown and the impossibility of getting there will persuade Wotif and/or the venue to refund our booking.

So much better than the photos!
I've never stayed somewhere so nice! we made the most of regional Victorian's being able to travel for the long weekend, and because of the lock down we were able to get the penthouse apartment. Right from the get go the staff were great to deal with, they called to make sure we were following the restrictions in place. Emails then followed and texts to ensure the contact-less check in was a breeze. The staff we did meet were so friendly. The room itself was so much more than expected, It was well laid out and the added luxuries were amazing! it did have a few spots of wear and tear from over the years, but these aren't brand new apartments and didn't spoil the room. The reason we were drawn to this room was the private Sauna and Spa. these worked perfectly, BEST DECISION EVER!! The view and location were also top notch, a short stroll to the pub and restaurants, the walk to get there is along the water's edge boardwalk. I love visiting Metung and now that I've found this place I love it even more!

Metung Stay
The weather was horrid, but it did not matter. Our stay was warm and comfortable and we enjoyed it immensely. We were within walking distance of most of the eateries and shops in Metung.

A great little find
5 Knots Metung is on the water and some apartments have sea views. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our stay here. Cafes, the pub and the general store are all in walking distance from 5 Knots.

We were looking for a peaceful few days and the location of this property was ideal for walks, easy access to shops, pub and eateries. Well appointed kitchen facilities for eat in and laundry facilities excellent too. Ideal all round.

This was the third time I have stayed at 5 knots Metung, and up until now, have always loved it. This time we stayed in room 1a, (a different room to what we have had in the past), which is a 1 bedroom spa apartment that looks out across the road to the lake. Check in was easy, and the lady on the phone was more than helpful. But, the cleanliness of the property and the room was below satisfactory for what your paying for. The entry door to the room is filthy, the light above the door is absolutely filled with dead bugs and insects, and spider webs around the keypad and door frame. As for the inside of the room, more spider webs around the windows, a spider web on the back of the little tea and coffee box on the table, dust on the window ledge in the bedroom, dirt and dust around the legs of the fridge, mould in the bottom of the shower, mould in the tiling at the back of the spa, and food or whatever it was on the wall. This is supposed to be one of the top places to stay in town, but you are not welcoming people back to stay. I certainly won't be in a hurry to stay here again. I'd like to share the photos i have for everyone to see, but unfortunately there is no way to do it with this review. This review is only for room 1a, as i can't comment on the other rooms...maybe they were cleaner?

That absolutely everything you can think of was on hand and available within the apartment. The shops, eateries, views and boardwalks were right out the front door. The ambience and relaxing atmosphere was fabulous.

We stayed in the "Spa bay apartment" and it was absolutely beautiful. This is the second time we have stayed here, and we are now making this our place to come for our future holidays. If you want a peaceful holiday without all the traffic or screaming kids, this is the place to be. We had our own private balcony looking out over the jetties. The room was spacious, clean, and most of all, private.
