We had a massive room on the first floor for our family of four. We pushed two single beds together to make it safe for our 1 year old to sleep in a bed next to his sister and used the room's chairs to stop him falling out. We had dinner there which was lovely, great kids play area that they could entertain themselves in whilst we ate dinner. The only downer was the buffet breakfast. We arrived at 8.30am and the buffet was never topped up. It looked like the tour groups had already been through and decimated the buffet and it was very disappointing not to see it be topped up as our options were very limited. We organised breakfast the night before with reception so it only cost us $20 per adult and at that price I was still disappointed. Thankfully we didn't pay the full price or I'd have been extremely angry. I understand it can be costly to top up a buffet if there aren't many people to come through after but just put out smaller platters of items so there is less wastage. The staff were awesome though and nothing was too much trouble especially when it came to the kids. The pool was great and pool towels were provided which was a pleasant surprise.
I found our roof to be clean. It had a fridge, tv and good hot water pressure. The security deposit was something new to me, on top of the room cost. Also the cleanliness policy was a little harsh. Otherwise it was ok.

"Good hotel. Close to the beach & local restaurants"
Our stay was very enjoyable except for one inconsiderate happening by on owner of the adjoining apartment. They chose to refurbish and paint using an oil based paint. We had the stink of that for the last couple of days.
Good location to shopping restaurants bars beach. Bus stop at door parking. Inexpensive short term accommodation. Lovely owners. Very obliging people. Hotel is very dated but comfortable. For the price good value
Restaurant did a reasonable job and the splash zone and pools entertained the kids for hours. Splash zone is cold water, and the swimming pools were heated (but a bit too cold to make swimming a pleasure in August).
Our Room (15) was very dark and dingy, which was quite disappointing. Saying that we had a pleasant stay.
Clean, comfortable and modern.
Very tidy motel complex with good parking..
Great for an overnight or couple of nights stay.
Doesn't appear to have laundry facilities.
Host very helpful.
Good eating places within walking distance.
Spindrift on the Beach is a lovely apartment right on the beach (as the name would suggest). I stayed in Room 2 on ground floor, which had direct access to the beach and pool and a wonderful view of the waves rolling in. The room was very tidy and had so many kitchen utensils -- it made cooking so easy when we didn't feel like leaving! The bedrooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The room had so many beds it would be great for a big group of people or a family (bunk beds + single bed, queen bed, sofa bed = 7 people easily accommodated!). I stayed with a group of girls on a weekend away and will definitely stay again ASAP - just try not to have a cyclone next time we are there! ;)
