After trying to contact the property manager without any luck, I had to call Stayz website the day before the stay as it looked like the manager was not going to reply, hence we wouldn't be able to get into the house.
On the drive to the property after checking other reviews the issue still remains with no signage or street number, hence you have to spot the gap between the hedge to find the entry (again a simple sign would help.) The driveway is not for the faint hearted and would be a challenge for 2wd cars as it is very steep and gravel. From the outlook the home and the view look beautiful, the manager has included some bread, butter, milk and some extras in the fridge which is a nice touch and unexpected, but this is the start of where things go wrong.
There simply has been little to no maintenance on this property since the photos were done many years ago when the home was built. The photos do give an impression of a slick, clean stay but that is not the case. The home is reasonably dirty, even for a "farm" type stay. The floor, walls, and appliances are dirty and don't even look in the oven. This is possibly allowable, but the disturbing thing is the smell coming from the bed, the linen looks dirty and has a strong odour, looking at it this linen may have been on for many other couples stays and judging by the scratches in the floor under the bed, this bed has seen some action.
The bathroom is well design, other than missing a door and if you are sitting on the toilet you would want to be very close with your partner as they will be able to chat directly with you from the bed. The grout in the tiles has not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time and I simply would not suggest using the spa bath as the fittings are full of grime and hair which leads you to wonder what the water in the lines may be harbouring. The towels or better said "rags" are near unusable and not what you would expect from a reasonably expensive stay. There is no dish cloth or tea towels so you are best to take your own if you are planning on washing and drying up any kitchen wear. This being said though, the bones of the home are wonderful and the view from the back peaceful and open.
The home simply needs maintenance, professional cleaning and a little love.
PS. A warning the electrical power went out on day two, leaving the house unusable and the owner uncontactable, power was on to other homes around and all circuits were on but the house was without power.
