Property was very good clean and comfortable could not fault it.Some guest r very noisy no respect for others.Street noise is loud until the early hours not much fun for light sleepers like me.

I booked online, booking was accepted, then I telephoned to find there were no rooms at this busy time, lucky I phoned! I was in Melbourne on business.I hope I have been refunded. The manager also told me the guy who normally facilitates late arrivals had a cold so a late arrival wasnt possible. Maybe an arrogant attitude at Grand Prix time!

Shared bathroom, smallish room but overall nice facilities and nice staff. Didnt like the smell of the bathroom at times and the traffic noise at times. Had nice TV, aircon in the room, wifi included.

It’s small. But comfy if not spending too much time in the room. Good to come back to if just looking for somewhere to sleep. Has basic needs.

Towels were dirty and unwashed, sheets were clean but were stained, no top sheet, shower was dirty and had hair in it, floor was not vacuumed, cutlery was dirty and unwashed. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Most importantly the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was close to transport giving easy access to the city. This wouldn’t suit someone wanting lots of room but it was good for us.

Room was advertised with courtyard and Netflix. On arrival, no Netflix and the courtyard was an open door leading to the outside. Not big enough for two. Our sleep was constantly disturbed by a passing train.

An unusual little place which people will either love or hate. I was initially out off by the size of the room (very small). But it has everything you need. No fridge etc, but the guest has the availability of a oproiper downstairs kitchen to cook meals or microwave , The hotel provides a free breakfast wghuicg is terrific in the kitchen area, bed is comfortable, guest has to look after themselves as far as room service goes, but supply lots of towels and anything else on. Needs. I extended my stay

Needed affordable accommodation for the night.
It's a nice place to stay very affordable and with a great breakfast not many places will give you a free breakfast, we defenantly will stay there again if we need to come to Melbourne. It's close to the beach, plenty of places to eat and all so close to the main city. The railway station is just across the road.They don't have parking facilities it's all on street parking. Thanks guys.

Great budget accommodation
My young son and I stayed two nights. We knew we weren’t going to spend much time in the room as we were going to be exploring the city, so we didn’t need anything other than a bed and a shower. If you are want a bit more room maybe this isn’t the place for you as that was all the room there was. With our one small bag between us on the floor it was tight! The shower was amazing but probably could have been a bit cleaner. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was supplied and really very good. Pod coffee if you want it. But who would drink pod coffee when just across the road was awesome coffee. We chose this place for location. Train and tram at the front door, Op shops, cafes, bars, cheap food, cinema, atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place. The only thing that would stop me going back again is the comfort of the bed. My body ached each morning!

Great budget option
Really great location next to loads of really cool restaurants and right opposite the station. Breakfast was nice, room was cosy and the whole place just felt really comfortable. Definitely recommend to those travelling on a budget but not wanting a hostel.

On the 5th day, an intruder at 7am!
Room was not ready on arrival and I finally checked in at 1:45 pm, so much for the 11am check in advertised. The room was cramped, no desk, no fridge, no wardrobe, no hangers. I know we call mobile computers laptops, that's not a comfortable way to work 9 hours a day. Continental Breakfast provided, after a look in the kitchen cupboard for a bowl, I passed on the bowl and breakfast. Smart TV: On enquiring as to why the TV wouldn't work I was told it's not connected. No channels available. After going out and buying a chromecast, I was able to watch TV. Access,: The 3rd day I received a message that could have been are you checking out today, or it could have been do you need room service today, in hindsight the room service thought wasn't happening. On return, I found I had a been locked out. Card canceled. In the middle of a pre-booked 5 day stay, unimpressed! I was told the system did it! On the 5th there was room intrusion. While still in bed, someone accessed the lock with key card and opened the door. When I called out, they hesitated then shut the door. Needless to say, I got my self-organised and went down to check out immediately. and on enquiring as to who and why my room was accessed. You guessed it the computer did it. the other 99.9% accom staff knock to make sure the room is empty before entering with a keycard. They must all be wrong. An apology, no! I'm wondering now if his happened at other times I had been asleep. Book at your own peril!

Hi Juliette, I am so sorry you did not enjoy your 5 days stay with us. We tried very hard to please you. I even offered you my home made lemon slice. Check in is at 2pm so you did check in early. A chromecast,is available from reception. We have Smart TV's in all the rooms and there is an app on your smart phone to watch Netflix Utube ABC and all the TV series you can think of. We use a Key Card System for your safety so you can access your room and front door. If the card is near your mobile phone it will deactivate as mentioned to you when you checked in. The someone who entered your room was one of my new staff, he made a bad mistake and deeply regrets his actions thinking the room was empty. I told you how very sorry I am for the young mans mistake. Julie we all make mistakes and forgiveness is so important in life. I wish you well and all the best Thank You Ann SmartStay Melbourne.

Great location, close to the tennis. Helpful staff
Room is compact (we got double with ensuite) and you get a little bit of road noise but overall clean, comfortable and the staff are very accommodating and helpful. Literally across the road from Windsor train station which is only 3 stops from Richmond if you are catching the tennis or a game at the MCG. Right on chapel street with plenty of food options, supermarkets, trams etc. They also provide breakfast which is really nice. Also close to Southern Cross station (about 5 stops away) where you get the SkyBus. Coming in, we got a direct train to Windsor and going back, we changed at Flinders St station. Very convenient!
