The room was easy to find,clean and tidy , excellent bathroom with rain shower. The only thing wrong with the room was the tv the reception on the tv was very terrible.

We had a pleasant stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. An eclectic decor in some parts of the hotel was pleasing and bright. Staff were all welcoming. We would book again.

This box is not big enough! 1st room stunk like wet carpet cheap perfume & mould. View was solar panels & a wall. Lighting useless. Only usable light was in the fridge! The furniture was dark & worn with ripped chairs. The shower door had a note – don’t close the door as you would get stuck. Say what? The door to the bathroom was broken. The metal door latch was sticking out waiting to slice anyone who walked past. The lounge stunk of musk and I started to cough & wheeze. After sitting on it for 5 minutes I came out in a rash and started to itch. I think the chair had fleas. Got a new room. 2nd smaller room overlooked the carpark. Ceiling light and fridge light didn’t work. Looks like the fridge didn’t fit the cupboard so why not cut cupboard and leave the timber lying on the floor. To contact reception in person, if no one there, go outside use the A/Hours phone. The front doors are locked at 9 pm /9.30 pm and you have to use swipe card to get in. This is ok if the swipe card box worked properly. When changing rooms, they did not give us access to the new room for three nights. I had to keep going to reception. This hotel is in major need of maintenance with several lights, including Fire Escape lights not working, hanging off walls or flicking constantly. This could be the great building it looks like on the internet. But alas, looks are deceiving. My main issue is the smell. The lift is the worst place. It smells EVERYWHERE. All the time.

The building appears to a former Abbey or Aged Care facility or similar institution. Fairly dated. Inadequately maintained, bizarre mix of decor. Needs reno or at least refurb. Friendly staff though a bit non-conformist (no staff identifiers). Breakfast was good. Isolated location, so surrounds are quite suburban. Close to the hospital. Reasonably priced though probably a bit high still for the facilities. The pool and pool gardens are a shocker.

Great food & bar facilities on site. Interesting regal style architecture & decore. Pleasant sitting areas. Nicely renovated rooms. Comfortable beds. I would go back if ever in the area again. Very pleasant staff. Thank you for your kindness.

The moment Marsha said Hello and Welcome, I felt like I'd walked into a friend's home. Helpful with directions (I didn't have a clue where I was just followed a voice on the phone). Understood my fatigue after returning from a long first day. Remembered my name which really impressed. The quality of food coming from the kitchen was only succeeded by the level of customer service from the staff.

Nice and quiet stay during Christmas period
Quiet stay during Christmas holiday period. My room in Ground floor is "walk to the pool" with Gym. The only thing is the water temperature in SPA is cooler than the swimming pool. Uncomfortable spa.

I was so impressed with the staff. I couldn’t fault reception staff. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. I am also extremely grateful to the housekeeping staff. I left behind an Apple Magic Pen in the bed. Not only did they not toss it into the linen bag with the sheets they handed it in to reception. Thank you so much!!!

Property is a bit tired. Shower leaked and we had to use towels to mop up water in bathroom. No soap in room on arrival and had to call reception 3 times for it to be delivered to room. Staff not overly friendly or welcoming. Had very limited tourist information on Hunter Valley wineries and Maitland, including no maps of the town. The best they could provide were several Google maps which were not very helpful.

Beautiful old building, lovely renovations but rooms are not good. Bathroom excellent but No attention on room equipment or comfort. Curtains that cannot be opened, bed at 90deg to TV, no cable, Netflix nothing power boards everywhere just a mess.
