I liked the room and the special christmas cookies mantecados that they shared with us. The music in the elevator lobby is too loud. Our room was over the courtyard and very quiet. Much of the furniture in the lobby was very uncomfortable. The self checkin was a little rough but the staff was friendly. Great location and close to train station and museums!

In Oct 2023 we stayed at Radisson and absolutely loved it, however without realizing, I booked a stay for incorrect dates in Dec 2023, however in spite of numerous follow ups and request, they did not respond to my cancellation request with a refund. Such a bring brand should be flexible on policies.

My stay at the Raddison Red Hotel in Madrid (5 Star) was beyond horrible and atrocious. When we reached the hotel on our first day, nobody came to even help with our baggages even though we were constantly stared at by the staff. Additionally, on the first night, we noticed that our hotel room’s phone wasn’t working. Due to this, we told the staff and receptionists downstairs more than three times about this issue and nothing was resolved. Moreover, on the second day, we tried to visit the hotel’s restaurant for lunch and we were greeted very poorly by the staff at the restaurant, with phrases such as “What do you want? Why are you here”. Lack of courtesy. Furthermore, every time our hotel room got “cleaned”, we weren’t given new lotion bottles, even though the bottles given were less than 5ml, and we weren’t given new bar soaps even though this was the third time our room was getting “cleaned”. In conclusion, our stay at this hotel was not at all what is expected of a 5 star hotel and it was even less of a 3 star hotel.

Visit marred by too-loud music
For a business hotel, where I need to make calls and have discussions, the background music was much too loud. Thumping bass in the background, means calls sound like they are from a Disco - I will not come back for this reason

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT STAY HERE!
This is actually the first review I've ever done on a hotel, but I couldn't let another minute go by without letting future guests know of my HORRIBLE experience dealing with staff and management. I was double charged for a two-night stay. (And this was the second time I stayed here, the first being a few weeks earlier). Hotels.com spoke to the finance person at Radisson Red, who agreed that he saw the double charge. He requested Hotels.com send an email, and once received, he would refund my money. That was four days ago. I reached out to Hotels.com this morning to inquire why I hadn't received my refund. Hotels.com once again reached out to Radisson Red and the manager said they will not be giving me back my money as they are denying the double charge. In this day and age, when you can actually SEE the double charge on your bank statement, it seems odd and extremely unprofessional to think that simply denying a double charge will make it go away. I now have to cancel my card (it's the only way to dispute a charge with my bank's Visa card), and go to the bank to sit down with an associate and show them the double charge and dispute it. It will take another two hours of my time--not including the two hours spent disputing this charge--when I could be working to earn a living. Radisson Red has absolutely HORRIBLE staff and their management needs to learn a thing or two about dealing with their guests. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Convenient location, good room facilities, room well-cleaned each day, very helpful staff. However a red and black decor is not restful, and in the dim passages dull red-on-black signage is not easy to read. Over-loud music blaring in the lobby and elsewhere spoils the experience. I've stayed here several times before the revamp but I probably won't return.

The hotel’s interior decoration was fabulous and reception was friendly. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. The AC in our room is either break or just working poorly as it is and informing the staff didn’t helped us. We turned the AC to the highest wind level to 20 degree but could still barely feel the cold wind. The temperature was like 30 degrees Celsius during the day, and on the first day we checked-in the room was hot and we stayed about 30 minutes in the room with AC on but still the temperature was not going down. We had to leave the AC on and leave the room for 3 hours and come back to feel it cool down a bit. On the second day we leave the room power and AC on before we leave but cleaning service seems to turn off the power when we are not in the room so we come back to a hot room again. Worst thing is that we told the front desk about this issue 2 days in a roll, they said they will send maintenance to take a look and we heard nothing after. No one called us to follow up, neither explained it’s fixed or not or offer to changing room for us. We only stayed for 2 nights so has this issue for the whole time of our stay. Besides we are close to the Atocha station and our room was on the second floor so it’s pretty noisy at night, my boyfriend had trouble sleeping with those noises. If you are staying here, try to get the higher floor if possible.

I was very disappointed with my stay here. I reserved a superior room terrace and when I got to my room, the room reeked of cigarettes. The hotel has a smoke-free policy so it was the fault of a guest and not the hotel but I don't know why steps were not taken to rid the room of the smell. I was given a new room of supposedly equal caliber but the room was half the size and the terrace was no where near as nice. It was frustrating to know that I was paying for the same for a room of far less quality but I was told it was the only room left of the "superior" terrace room type. I did not enjoy the room as it was very small and not a lot of room to fit my luggage. My AC also did not work the entire time. Also, the shower also had nowhere to store your shower toiletries. Outside of my actual room experience, I found the staff to be pleasant but I would not stay here again or would recommend it to anyone.

It’s always tricky when you plump for a hotel and try to fit everyone’s needs… so I picked the Radisson Red. I knew of the hotel brand and pick 4-star hotels as a must, knowing the standard to expect. The hotel is very well placed for accessing all aspects of Madrid, kind of on the edge of both the old town and modern city. Our superior family room was a good size, with spacious shower room, quiet and comfortable. We opted for Room Only, which is unusual for us as we normally opt to go bed & breakfast but with an extra charge of £300 for our 5 nights we decided to go rogue and enjoy eating our breakfast out each morning, finding numerous good options close by. Highly recommend ‘el patio vertical’ just around the corner. The hotel bar & lounge area has wide, open and stylish seating areas with great background music. The roof terrace, one reason for my choice of hotel, wasn’t open any of the evenings we headed to the top floor unfortunately. Not sure why!

This is one of the best hotels in Madrid. Right next to the Atocha train station and next to two major avenues, easy to get to and from the Airport (MAD terminal4) with Renfe. It is about a 1 mile walk to the city center as you walk through different neighborhoods… safe

Travelled with family and small children
This is a difficult review. The property is average, however, the suites are all at the front of the building and all of them are over a night club that goes all night. In addition the AC capacity for the suites is inadequate. The hotel ultimately moved us to rooms that were much quieter and cooler. If you want a suite, I would not recommend. It you want a regular room, the facility is adequate.
