Maritim at the promenade
Great location right next to the promenade, great views from most of the rooms. Great breakfast buffet. A place that seems to be preferred by older generations. If travelling by car avoid parking in the underground car park, it's expensive and there are other options close by.

Stay at the Maritim
I stayed for business, but the local area is very pretty and relaxing. The building works every morning at 8am weren't so great and the lack of air conditioning was a little troublesome, but luckily it wasn't too hot. Better pillows are definitely needed as I woke with a stiff neck most mornings.The decor is quite dated, but it does the job and is clean. The wifi is terrible, but the general area has pretty bad mobile service. Breakfast is great, the shower was always warm and powerful and service was always with a smile.

Great hotel and location - would stay again!
This hotel was great! Perfect location - right on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Service was very kind and helpful. Wonderful complimentary breakfast. The room could use a few updates, but overall very clean and comfortable. The only real downside was construction is going on next to the hotel, so we woke early to sounds from the workers, but that's out of the hotel's control. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying there after the boat trip from Helsinki was comfortable for me and my pets.
I was on my way to southern Europe and wanted to start with a restful night on my arrival at Travemúnde, which I like so much. My pets enjoyed the outdoor walks but there was almost too much animal traffic so they got really excited. Anyway, we slept well and I had a substantial breakfast. Thank you for the service you offered.

A Room with a View
Room facing east across the Trave estuary provided the most fantastic views. Large balcony perfect for sundowners.

great Palace to relax with a wonderful view
I wanted to relax, and this worked out very well. The Massage at the spa was great and the view in the morning fantastic. Everybody was very friendly. It was nice to have a Restaurant inside with good food.the Hotel is little old, so the inferior Kind of old fashioned and the bathroom not too nice anymore.

The Hotel that Overbooked their Rooms
Our reason for booking the Maritim Hotel was strictly for the view of the Baltic from the room's balcony, with all its ship and boating activity. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there was no room for us although we had booked and PAID for the hotel several months prior to our stay. They were expecting our arrival and had booked us into a hotel in the area. The hotel was a three story (5-star) hotel. Our room had a small semi-circle window that was too high to see out of and it faced away from the water, so no view. We feel strongly that we did not receive a fair trade based on our reasons for being there in the first place. We are from Canada and will not get the opportunity to go back to the area again. The Maritim did offer us a free supper at their hotel and a free trip to their 35th floor for the view and some beer/wine but none of this made up for the disappointment we felt. I am angry that this could happen when booking through hotels.com.

The Maritim is in a beautiful location and the staff was excellent. The views were fabulous, the food was very good, the room was comfortable, but over all, the hotel was very outdated.There was not real useable wifi, no air condition. The televisions were very old. The chairs in the room seemed rather old, and somewhat dirty and smelly. It was like a flashback to the 80's. I know that Maritim is an excellent brand hotel in Germany, but this did not meet our expectations from other Maritim Hotels where we stayed. It was ok, but not the quality or class of accommodations that we expected.

You can't miss the hotel! Friendly staff, nice restaurant with brilliant buffet breakfast. Pool area's just been refurbished and really good. Not sure if you have to pay for sauna as It's in a different part of the spa. Hotel gave us an Oyster card so we didn't have to pay to go on beach and received a discount to visit the sailing ship. There wasn't tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a shame, but overall a good hotel.

Rest and Relaxation
Travemunde is the gateway to Scandanavia on the Baltic Sea. This town is very cute with alot of history and just 20 mins by Train from the Unesco listed Lubeck and 1 hour from Hamburg. If in the warmer months you are after some time to relax with sea, surf and sand and many cafes and restuarants then this is the place to be. Maritim Strandhote​l Travemuend​e is every bit the 4 stars it is rated. From customer service, room facilities and hotel services nothing is questionable. The port is very busy with many ships coming and going. The only concern is that you need to pay to use the beach which is not friendly to me as a tourist.

Great views though a little tired!
Stayed here for a weekend in December - booked very early and got a stunning rate through Expedia. I had a corner bedroom, almost a suite with views over the river and towards the Baltic. With snow on the ground it was very picturesque. Hotel is very luxurious but if I was to be picky, I would say the room needed updating (my hand basin was cracked and the shower was difficult to point where I wanted it). That said, the room was enormous, comfortable and with extras like robes and some fruit. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it. Friendly staff and great service.

Nice hotel, right on the beach with walking areas, shopping, etc. at the doorstep. We arrived after area services had closed and tried to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant is not well set up for eating with kids and the restaurant wait staff even gave us the cold shoulder by not taking our order, so we left after about 15 minutes of waiting. We ordered Room Service, which was good, but I would stick to the simple dishes, as the "fancy" fish platter was over-cooked and dry. If you are only staying one night you can park in a public parking lot right next door that is almost as convenient as the hotel parking lot for free from 6pm to 10 am.

Da mein Mann blind und gehbehindert ist, war die einzige Möglichkeit des Duschens - Badewanne mit sehr hohem Einstieg - überhaupt nicht passend; wir haben deswegen nicht verlängert. Obwohl die Lage sehr gut ist, werden wir nicht noch einmal bei Ihnen übernachten. UND: bei der Buchung hatte ich um "barrierearme" (nicht barrierefrei) Unterkunft gebeten

Es war mein erster, aber bestimmt nicht mein letzter Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Das Hotel selber ist sehr ruhig, man hört die Nachbarn nicht. Gut am Strand gelegen. Das Frühstücks-Buffet lässt keine Wünsche. Leider kosten die Bademäntel inzwischen eine Leihgebühr und es gibt nur die Einheitsgröße, welche leider nicht jedem Menschen passt. Dadurch konnte ich den Spa-Bereich leider nicht nutzen.

Es war nur ein Kurztripp mit einer Übernachtung, fühlte sich an wie ein Kurzurlaub. Ein- und auschecken schnell und problemlos. Zimmer war schon vor 15 Uhr bezugsfertig, hatte Balkon und herrlichen Blick suf die Ostsee und den Hafen. Preis und Leistung sehr zufriedenstellend.

Et blandet ophold. Dejligt værelse og smukt interiør. Morgenmadsbuffetten var god og alsidig. Men indtjekningen var fåmælt uden orientering om opholdets muligheder - på hotellet og i de nære omgivelser. Og så skuffede det os, at på et hotel af denne standard bød hovedrestauranten på buffet og intet andet. Vi ville have a la carte og blev derfor henvist til kælderen, hvor der var en pub med et yderst begrænset menukort. Maden var dog god. Helt komisk blev det så ved morgenmaden, hvor vi satte os ved et bord, der var reserveret kl. 9.30. Der var ikke andre ledige borde, og klokken var 10.15. Det var reserveret til en ældre kvinde, der må have haft en særlig fortid på hotellet, men som ikke var mødt frem. Vi blev flyttet til et andet lokale - direktionens beslutning, som det blev nævnt. Det gav os anledning til at danne vores egen beslutning ift. at vende til tilbage til dette hotel. Det bliver et nej herfra. Mvh. Jimmy

Hotel kun for tysktalende turister og rejsende
Vi havde et fint ophold på 2 overnatninger . Vi fik et dejligt værelse med smuk udsigt . Vi havde desværre meget træk igennem døre og vinduer. Derudover var der ikke en forklaring på hvordan lyset virkede ved sengene - og vi lærte det først på afrejse dag, da vi tjekket skabene under lamperne i forbindelse med udtjekning. ALT information både det talte, og brochure var på tysk. Og personalet , som var rigtig søde - blev lidt utrygge ved at tale engelsk. Det taler desværre en del ned , da min mand og jeg ikke taler engelsk og vi ikke engang kunne få hjælp til menuen. Det resulterede i at vi bestilte bord på hotelrestaurant med buffet og blev slemt skuffede … vi kunne ikke lide noget af maden og da vi talte med en kok, talte han tysk til os . Det er et dejligt hotel og værelser , service og renlighed er i top. Men desværre føler man sig ikke tryg , når man ikke kan tale tysk! Vi havde også rigtig svært ved at kende parkeringsforhold - intet blev oplyst til os, og alle informationer var på tysk- vi måtte googletranslate for ikke at risikere en bøde Vi overnattede i forbindelse med et besøg på Lübeck julemarked og det var helt fantastisk - ca 20 min i bil fra hotellet.
