The view was nice and we have stayed at Fairmont hotels, but this one didn’t measure up. The staff seemed very uninformed and there was poor facilities for coffee or just snacks or a light meal. We felt we were held hostage to your $35 per person buffet. It forced us to leave the hotel for any meal options as we were exhausted from Travel, and there was nothing offered at the hotel that was reasonable. A taxi ride to town and back cost $50. A disappointing stay especially for the price.

It's probably great for young families, as it seems to have turned into a place that lots of young families go with small kids, for the ice rink, free kids movies, etc. Just not quite what we were looking for. The surrounds are beautiful, and the room itself was clean enough. But the main areas of the property - lobby, lifts, etc - have all seen much better days, and are in serious need of a refresh and better cleaning, organising and upkeep.

Fairmont Hotels in the USA are wonderful; this property didn't live up to expectations, but it was priced well. The lobby was lovely, my room had a great view (yet decor was underwhelming)& the room service staff was lovely and personable. The kids play area, arcade, outdoor pool area were incredibly outdated -- I would guess this place was awesome back in the early 90's. It's nice that there is a Spa and Golf Course - but this place could be so amazing if they did an renovation.

This would be a great family destination with lots of things for kids. We found it a bit noisy with dogs barking and kids yelling. Had expected a higher level of decor in the rooms which are tired but clean. Staff could do with more training for dining service, check in etc. Found the menus a bit limited.

Hotel was out dates and quite dirty, carpet had several stains and it seems the room need a good dusting. Customer services at Reception was good, very accomodating. The hotel had several restaurants one site all of which where disappointing, portions where tiny and expensive for not very good food. Would not go back.

Good for family with kids, but the hotel itself is dated and needs upgrading. The room is quiet dirty with old carpets, stained bedsheets, shower with no pressure, and coffee cups and spoons were kept untidy which makes you think whether it has been cleaned.

Have stayed before but never with a child. Took our 2 yr old and was amazed as how kid friendly and perfect it is for a family friendly weekend away! Free cinema, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, indoor/outdoor pool, time zone style games, train around the grounds! Highly recommend and will be back for more family holidays

This is our first time to Sydney and we truly love the experience in the resort. Good view and the proper maintenance of the facility. Excellent services, especially Micheal at Concierge I believe every kids will love you (and your train). We receive good services everywhere include the restaurants, reception and in the shop. Country yard room is my choice, highly recommend to families with kids.

So much entertainment for the kids at the hotel, we really enjoyed our time here. The staff is amazing, from the concierge, to the barista and waiters at the cafe. They really made our stay a great one! Only area of improving is the room cleanliness that could be improved.

Loads of potential - Service lacking
A great property with a great view. This property has so much to offer for the business conference, wedding, family holiday etc. The grounds are superb with many family friendly activities, ice skating, golf, pool, sauna, hot tub, horse rides, adventure park. The room yet slightly aged, was clean and comfortable. It was spacious with a bath, fridge (no minibar) and spectacular view. I was here for a week for leisure with my partner before a work conference in the second half of the week. I requested laundry services for the conferences to be told I can go to town where there is a laundromat. After a long day at conferencing I opted for a meal in. Upon looking at the IRD menu, it was extremely basic with few options. I also made it just ordering in time with IRD only available between 12pm-9pm. No minibar in room so you can order from IRD only between these hours. No concierge when we arrived. A concierge desk is manned during the day from 8am only. I wouldn’t call the service from this property representative of the brand Fairmont. It was 2.5 star at best.
