We had a wonderful time staying at the Castle with only one exception…we felt very sorry for the Peacock because he didn’t seem to come out of his little home. All staff were so lovely and helpful ☺️🦚🏰

This castle could be amazing with a little tlc. The rooms need to reflect the experiece of staying in an amazing castle. Great place for children. This is my second time staying here. Each time a little more disappointed. But a great location to stay when attending the amazing mystery murder night. This is what keeps me coming back. Please renervate the rooms into the castle theme's.

Our stay at Kryal Castle was overall great! I liked how our park admission was included with the purchase of our room, and how quiet it was after the park was closed! We got to walk around and see the buildings and do the stone maze when no one else was around. The Abbey Tavern was open late, so we had some supper there and it was delicious! The decor there and in our room was all in theme, and quite lovely. We stayed in the honeymoon king suite, and I really appreciated the appliances provided like the mini-fridge, microwave, etc. My partner loved the bed, but I found it a bit uncomfortable as we both kept rolling towards the center of the bed. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep very well, but my partner did, so difference of perspective there, lol. We really appreciated the heat pump as it was hot the first day so we had the air on, and freezing cold the second day, so we could warm up. The jetted tub was lovely, but I only got to use it briefly. I'd love to go back again for another stay! My man and I give this place a big HUZZAH and two thumbs up!

The room (king honeymoon suite)was small, cheap looking, and outdated. It liked like a crappy motel room with a tapestry on the wall. Spa bath tub had a shower over it with no curtain or screen. There was not enough hot water to fill the tub so it as unusable. Spa bath was one of the main reasons I booked this room. Manager said "well if someone in the other rooms took a shower..then there might not be enough hot water for the bath" Walls of bathroom had various molds and water damage. You could see unsealed gaps around the mirror in the bathroom with light coming through from outside. key cards stopped working one evening after returning from dinner and we couldnt get into the accommodation lobby. A guest had the same problem but luckily his girlfriend came out to let us back in. Other guests were noisy at night and early in the morning and knocking on all the doors including ours. You could hear everything going on in the rooms next door. If someone was in the corridor you could hear everything. Overall it was a terrible stay and I paid premium prices for a crack motel level stay. Manager promised me a refund and started the refund process with wotif. Wotif then did absolutely nothing. I had to call to chase up my refund and I was told by wotif I would get it in 7-10 days. Four weeks later I still didn’t receive my refund. I had to call Wotif back, and they confirmed that they NEVER ISSUED MY REFUND. After complaining I got my money back.

I stayed in the most beautiful room. It was spacious and had everything you needed while still keeping to the castles theme. The weather is quite cold so my room has had the heater on already for me. I had an electric blanket and a heater in the bathroom as well, keeping me very warm. The bathroom was unreal, with the round room hidden behind a magical looking door. I had a courtyard that was so green and luscious. It was just beautiful. The castle itself was unique and amazing with so many activities and things to see. Every lap i did, i seen something new. They had shops everywhere that were a great touch to bring that extra experience of fun and to take home souvenirs. The photo opportunities are everywhere with the castle being just brilliant to see including the jousting performances.

We couldn’t pick one thing that we loved about kyral as it was all very beautiful and mystical. The only thing we would say is a few more dining options would be great, or if there was a breakfast menu for people that stayed over in the accommodation, would be great. Otherwise everything was fantastic and we had a wonderful stay!

I have stayed at Kryal Castle about 4 times previously. This was my first stay in the Commanders quarters. When I arrived, there was no welcome to Kryal card, there was no mini bar or snack foods on offer which there were in other rooms. There was one packet of biscuits to share between two people. The toilet roll holder does not sit on the wall properly, so when you go to tear off some paper the toilet paper roll falls onto the ground, I booked for two adults. The room had a double or queen bed and 7 bunk beds in it. None of the bunk beds were made. When I rang the after-service number to get a blanket so that my teenage daughter could sleep in a bunk bed (I gave her 2 pillows off of mt bed) I was told by the accommodation manager that they charge extra for linen to have extra beds made up. They should not assume that 2 adults are a couple and if I have paid for a room with 7 bunks in it, at least one of them should be made. When I came back to the property after buying dinner, I could not see the parking bays. Lighting was so poor that I made my daughter get out of the car in the rain to direct me as best she could into a parking bay. This was my worst stay at Kryal and the disappointment makes me question whether I would go back and stay again.

I found on arrival that as paying guest for two nights we could not even get dinner. Appreciate that they have events on but i would have expected paying over night guest would have been looked after. No bins around the property. In our King Suite SPA NO water pressure, TV did not work, and no staff around to speak to. Not impressed with the experience and will not be recommending it to others. I went here 20 years ago and Kryall Castle it self needs money spent on it, not turn it into a caravan park.

Rooms were located inside the castle so if staying on the weekend you can go to your room if you wanted to have a rest or clean up and then go back to the castle shows/shops. The medieval exhibitions/shows were very entertaining for both adults and children. check in was easy. staff friendly. rooms were clean.

We had a nice stay. The walls are paper thin and we had to put on white noise to block out the neighbours talking at 11pm also the heater was on 27degrees all night as it was freezing. It was great to be at the castle ready to go at open. The witches and wizards festival was great. Would be good to have an onsite Resturant for breakfast.

Room was dirty, no where to eat dinner and a very limited breakfast option not open until 9. Picture didn’t match the room we got. Room wasn’t refreshed the 4 nights we stayed until we asked. Carpets didn’t get vacuumed and we had no where to sit and eat in our room so they got really dirty with us sitting on the floor. Not what we expected at all.

Bathroom half painted. I’m a cleaner so I look at all aspects as it’s just habit. Bathroom not clean. No face washer. No tea towel to dry dishes should have trolleys to help with luggage. I would hate to have been going alone with just my daughter. Also reception with no wheelchair access is a bit inconvenient.

We also had access to the castle grounds during the day and after hours. Highly recommendable, great value for money. There was an event happening on New Years Eve and we were kept informed about the set up process, which didn’t impact our stay.

The medi-evil look is different, and we enjoyed staying there. The Queen Spa room was just okay. It was a little confined, and the spa was just a bath (with some tiles missing from the side of it). It is a very dark setting. We left early AM, and it was difficult to find our way out (both walking out to the entry area, then driving out to the street!).

NOISY letdown
The experience of staying in a 'castle' was eclipsed by the fact that that we had to put up with the noise from the neighboring rooms. Walls were thin enough that we could hear conversations, toilets, fans, KIDS, doors, jumping, wall bangs, etc. at all hours. (Crying kids at various times of the night). We were in a barracks that included bunk beds and a double bed but out of the 6 bunk beds, 2 were made up, leaving the double bed. It was assumed the two adults were sharing the double but I was looking forward to a bed on my own as I have recently suffered broken ribs---not to be!! The wife said on check-in that the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and although our room was cleaned and restocked (coffee, milk, biscuits) on the first morning, it wasn't repeated. We stayed 3 nights. On a positive note, the access to the themed castle was great and the kids enjoyed the activities. I enjoyed the mead.

We had a issue with water supply like there weren’t water at all. Next day morning at the reception we got to know the pump was damaged. However, I believe been a 4 star accommodation they should have a back up system. Room amenities were damaged ex - sink. And dirty.
