I booked a room months ago in preparation for a Christmas trip with my mother, and before booking, I called the hotel to confirm the bed could be split. They said “no problem”, so I booked. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that our booking was upgraded to a larger room. Great, right? NO. We walked excited towards the room, and as soon as we opened the door, we noticed a horrible sewage smell, and on top of that, the bedroom didn’t have two beds. When I went downstairs to complain, we were told the hotel was full and that no roller beds were available. After waiting for about an hour and making clear we were not going to be breathing sewage the whole night, we finally got given an alternative, but I had to share the bed with my mother for that night which resulted in none of us getting any sleep. Issues didn’t end here as the aircon suddenly stopped working, I managed to fix it after turning off/on the room’s main switch. The second night we were moved to a larger room and offered a bottle of wine, but that doesn’t compensate the stress we had to go through and the amount of unpacking/packing. Last but not least, the aircon in the larger room was very noisy. This was a special trip as my mum was visiting all the way from Europe, we were touring for days and eager to rest at night, and this hotel ruined our stay in Launceston. I will never stay at this hotel again. Thanks to the young lady in reception as I know she did her best to deal with the situation.
