Albergo Firenze is a pleasant and friendly hotel.
The double-room I stayed in was clean and satisfactory, if not rather basic. The bathroom was modern, clean and well-kept - something that's highly important for me. If you're spending plenty of time exploring the wonderful sights of Lake Como, the room should be adequate. Luxurious it is not, but it was fine for me.
Breakfast is a continental one with plenty of choice, and friendly attentive staff. The dining room has lovely views over Piazza Volta.
The receptionists are friendly and helpful. The hotel is also perfectly located, right in the centre of Como, and virtually bang in front of the Lake - which is simply breathtaking when you first see it. Despite it's location in the piazza, it was surprisingly quiet and perfect for exploring the area. The ferry for Bellagio is a two minute walk from the hotel.
Getting to the hotel from Como St Giovanni station is a short 5-7 min walk. Also close by is the other station Como Lago Nord.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Albergo Firenze and would recommend it.
