Pretty hotel and really enjoyed our room fitting 3 beds. Under bed storage available too. Onsen vanity area was great with skincare and amenities. Only thing is that there is no screen cast or steaming on the tv.

Great staff! Nice hotel. A little dated but I would totally stay here again. Only negative is CNN. Ironically it's the channel before the Chinese propaganda network CCTV.

A fine base-of-operations in Kyoto
The Mitsui Garden Hotel (MGH) is a fine hotel centrally located in Kyoto, a half-block on a side-street from the main boulevard that intersects the JR station. It is a short walk from several subway stations and 3 subway stops from the JR station. There are several restaurants nearby, including half-a-dozen coffee shops and a convenience store directly across the street. The MGH is a high quality hotel while its decor is getting a bit dated. The rooms are large by local standards. Daily housekeeping service was fine. Internet worked fine. The only staff I interacted with was the front desk, and the clerk was very helpful with a late-check-in. There is sparse English anywhere in the hotel, so be prepared for some challenges - for example, operating the air conditioning controls was hit-and-miss. The only English television channel was CNN, and that was overdubbed with Japanese most of the time. Overall, I can confidently recommend the MGH if you need reliable and hassle-free accommodations. It is not a luxurious hotel, but as a base-of-operations while in Kyoto, it is fine.

Loved this property. Room is small, but very comfortable. Enjoyed the public bath. Hotel is walkable to several good restaurants.

Moreover, you are able to see the garden at the lobby, restaurant also. You might enjoy comfortable time. On the other hands, we are sorry to hear that our room size did not meet your satisfaction. we have some bigger rooms such as deluxe room (25㎡) and Family room (34㎡). A lovely hotel close to Karasuma Okie station. Central location to most of the sightseeing and only 10mins walk to Nishiki market and Teramachi-dori. Has everything you could possibly want in facilities, amenities and also has a guest Japanese bath (although we didn’t have time to enjoy this). Would stay again.

We ❤️ Kyoto
We love Kyoto and staying at Mitsui Garden Sanjo is quiet, convenient for shopping and restaurants, easy walking to many sites and for those not wanting to do much walking, it’s easy to get a cab in front of the hotel.

The hotel is a bit away from the main shopping area of Kyoto, but is still very accessible and easy walking to areas of interest. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Pleasant stay
Convenient to subway and great access to restaurants & Starbucks , if that is the area you need to be in. Rooms are very small and so it’s difficult to get suitcase out but the room size is given in the description. Water left in fridge every day and tea & coffee. Robes pyjamas and slippers to wear fiends to public bath in the room. Not great for cooked western style breakfast but fresh fruit & pastries available.
