The property is kind of dated, the beds and pillows were pretty stiff. The location is conveniently near the Kyoto train station. Staff wasn't rude, but they didn't seem welcoming either. Next time I'll try a different hotel.

The hotel was good in public spaces, but room was tired and outdated, only one mains socket, no usb ports, carpet and furniture badly worn. European breakfast options was to say the least poor. Great for eating and drinking locally, even food hall in basement that covered good variety of foods. Location great for getting around Kyoto literally just outside the rail/bus station.

Location is quite good but doesn’t make up for the property and rooms being exceptionally small, poorly maintained, bedding and beds are very poor quality and old and the bathroom was badly worn and aged and generally not very clean.

Older hotel but can’t ask for a better location - right across from Kyoto Station. Room was decent sized. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Tons of shopping and dining options nearby. A great base for anyone who plans to visit Kyoto.

The hotel is located at a very convenient location at the Kyoto Railway Station. In addition to excellent rail connections, all forms of transportation including public buses, tour buses and taxis are easily available. There are vast dining options nearby in terms of variety and price. These are the major reasons for choosing this hotel. Plus the hotel counter staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The room is smallish with the double mattress placed on the floor (Japanese style) with an adequate attached bathroom. As there was no room photos on the website, this took me and my wife a bit of a surprise. It didn’t matter to us as we were out most of the time. It is value for money.

If convenience is your priority you really can't beat this location and price. Building appears dated and my room had no climate control... Being there ending of November was cold. Located right across Kyoto station is the selling point. Minute away from transportation... Bus, train and the taxi.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Rooms are a bit loud due to traffic and crosswalks from Kyoto Station. It’s a convenient place to stay across from the station. It’ll do in a pinch.

Super convenient location but not that clean. There was an old blood stain on the mattress that I could see through the fitted sheet. Water from the shower trickles down onto the floor, so just a poor design.

The hotel is nice one, but i booked the room with 2 twin beds with Expedia and at the check in they said they upgraded our room with double bed, I thought they did it for free, then charged us more which was surprising. I didn’t want to argue and paid the price and got the room. The bathroom was with high raised step to get in which was hard for me to access it

This would have to be one of the best hotel I have stayed in Kyoto. The hotel is very nice and clean. The staffs are extremely helpful, polite and professional. Area around the hotel is great. It's right in front of Kyoto bus and train station. The location was perfect for us. Lots of eatery and shopping. Most restaurants are family friendly and has variety of choices on the menu. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location
The hotel is less than a 5 min walk right across the central exit of Kyoto station just past the bus terminal and then cross the street. Lobby is on the 8th floor. There is a food court on the basement so very convenient to get lunch or early dinner (it does get crowded and seating can be a challenge during lunch hour). Because of its location close to the station and the bus terminal, commuting in and around tokyo will not be an issue. The room os decent size, clean, and pleasant looking. It met my expectation but did not wow me, however given the location, easy access to food and transportation, and at the right price (just over $100), I would stay here again

The hotel is older but there are really nice rooms on certain floors. You do not want to stay on the 8th floor. The rooms the VERY OLD and a bit gross. When we experienced this we expressed kindly our disappointment to staff and the were extremely accommodating and moved us to the 5th floor providing us an amazing room. The location of the hotel could not be any better as it is directly across from the station and Starbucks along with shopping and restaurants are all right next store. The staff was amazing and for that we would stay again but we would make sure we never go with the 8th floor rooms.

The room was really dirty, the table was sticky, there were hairs around the bathroom, the shower was terrible, tge linen and bedding felt dirty and cheap. One of the lights were useless and one of the outlet was covered in some sticky substance with the plug bent out was it couldn't be pushed all the way into the outlet.

Great stay at Kyoto Tower Hotel
Great stay at the Kyoto Tower Hotel. Hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the Kyoto Station and has a food hall located in the building. Room was spacious and the hotel was very nice. Great breakfast buffet. Very convenient location across from the train station and the tour bus station made this an ideal hotel for staying at while touring Kyoto.

It's in a fantastic location for the train station. Lots of restaurants at the station. The breakfast room is modern and breakfast was good. The rooms are tired but adequate. There's a vent to let air circulate but no air conditioner. Could be very warm in summer.

The room was stuff and hot, the airconditioning was inadequate to cool the room. When we called the front desk, they did not offer any solution. As a last resort I asked for a fan and spend the night in a terrible way, with a noisy fan blowing stale and warm air around, For the price the hotel charge, this is appalling.

Room we were given looks different from the picture on Expedia. Toilet had a stench which everyone in the family commented on. Toilet had cracks and dirt marks. Closet had no door. Room was bare, felt more like a motel/hostel than a hotel. Male staff who checked us in at night and took in our luggage the next morning had NO SMILE throughout the entire process, and I noticed no name tag as well. All very rare in Japanese standards. This place was unfortunately the last hotel before we ended our trip in Japan. We really wish we stayed elsewhere.

Excellent staff, location, and dining options around the hotel. The each room is rundown especially the bathroom wall. Needs to be bleached to clean the black molds.
