We booked and stayed at Ivanhoe on our way south to Perth. Our night involved staying in a room that hadn't been cleaned for a while as well as having no TV reception, (understand that staffing and low season conditions were applicable at the time), we all had a decent nights sleep though. If you are looking for a quick night stop over and aren't too worried about the finer details for absolute luxury this will suit your needs, especially if you have a larger family of 5 or more.
We booked ahead (and paid for) a night on our return leg from Perth. At the time of our trip the Kimberly was in flood and we were advised to push on from Kununarra in order to beat flood waters to the east, especially after just avoiding flooding at Fitzroy River on our way to Kununarra. We rang the hotel at 10am on the day of our stay to advise of our intent to keep going on our trip, there was no answer so we left a message and continued our drive.
We have been advised that we will not get any part of a refund due to the late cancellation. This is disappointing as this particular matter was not in our control.
What made this more disappointing was that we had a similar situation at Broome (Billi Resort) and we had to cancel at even shorter notice and the Billi Resort staff couldn't have been more supportive of our situation.
