Checking in was ok, but can be slow at times. My 2 colleagues were behind me in queue but got their rooms upon checking in, I had to wait and was told they would give me a room near lift lobby BUT eventually further than my manager's room. Reason being first option they have for me is not ready (need maintenance or something). Concierge says they not supposed to take in laptop when I tried to deposit my baggage there while waiting for a room. So, I had to place them in my colleague's room or carry my laptop around... Service has improved greatly over the years but still not great for business travelers. Rooms a bit too dark and WIFI is really bad to the point it's hard to download text only emails... rooms cleanliness is inconsistent, sometime good, sometimes so so (or bad). There are stains on my bed but I could avoid the stains because bed is big enough and it's only for a night stay. Twice I've stayed in this hotel, both seems to have some weird indoor smell. Asked house keeping to help spray air fresheners on my first stay and this recent stay, I use my own air fresheners which works just as fine.
This hotel has air-conditioning and windows are locked. So if you prefer to have fresh air, look elsewhere.
Starbuck in Maxim isn't open from 8am, need to go to Genting Grand side for breakfast, short walk but still not as great as having a cafe just right at door steps. Other cafes are further: Resort Hotel & FWH. Those opens much earlier.
