We had a little trouble with the water pressure in the shower. Staff fixed it. Great staff here, great food, great beach. Access road is very steep, it's a bit of a walk to reach stores, other restaurants. Great for privacy.

The property is great location next to the sea, The staff was friendly and great service, they are working very hard.(thank you ☺️) The management need to refurbish of the property as looking rundown. Shorted of staff has waiting for the food nearly 2 hours.

The location is the best & quietest part of white sands beach - right at the Northern end. I love it. Some people will not like it as it's approx 20 mins to walk along the beach to town. Road is much further & a taxi possible but not easy. Our beach hut is right on the beach - 10 meters from the sea! Accommodation is basic but clean. If you want new & luxury you will not find it here.....Receptionist and manager speak English & are helpful. Perfect for a couple looking for a quiet location and happy to walk into town.

Lovely hotel on the ocean
Nice hotel and good location. The warm and clear ocean. Nice staff, delicious food and great cottages. The sound of the ocean is simply mesmerizing.

Exactly what you would expect
As the other reviews say. It is down a very steep slope. If you accept that and that it is a beach hut resort then, it is exactly what it says. Like everything on Koh Chang currently it’s a bit worn however I spent two very relaxing days here and wouldn’t change a thing. Apart from other huts not turning their lights off at night.

Thé property enjoys a favourable position on the best beach on Koh Chang. The reason for my dissatisfaction was threefold. 1. The reception staff had little knowledge of English making it almost useless. 2. The bedding was not changed at changeover which I found disgusting. 3. The internet is virtually useless. The whole property is desperately in need of investment particularly the boardwalks and restaurant deck which are dangerous.. The closure of the small shop makes it very inconvenient for such a relatively isolated position. Unless these issues are resolved I cannot recommend this resort and will not be staying again. This resort is a throw back to times past when backpackers stayed in 100 baht bunglows. However, these are far newer and better constructed. In addition, all the modern luxuries such as air con and television are included. They don't build resorts like this anymore in Thailand.

I stayed one night out of five. Rats under my beach bungalow, rubbish at back of resort, dead cockroach in toilet and rusty water outlet that was broken. Given a power extension on with bare wires, breakfast was awful.. there was cats in and out the kitchen and one of the staff was seen lifting it up and putting it inside a drinks cooler and closing the door on it. I have photos. You used to be able to go through Rock Sands resort/bar and diner but it’s almost abandoned and looks awful. You need to almost walk two planks where there looks to have been a landslide. It’s almost impossible to get the the rest of white sands and certainly not if you are a little older. I booked else where and received a refund. Never ever be back!

Becareful when booking this hotel as it’s off the beaten track and only access at night out of the middle of nowhere is to hire your own motorbike. Rooms are well over priced and staff charge you twice for motorbike higher so make sure you get a receipt for everything at the resort so that they can’t try to scam you!

We loved the location, the quiet area.. being able to walk to other parts of the beach was a bonus! We were especially excited about being on the beach in this quaint hut! Loved our stay! Staff very responsive when we needed something.. Breakfast that was included was very good! Over all a great experience!

Basic accommodation but great location
This accommodation is all about location. In my opinion it’s located on the best part of the beach on the island, however for some it is too far to walk to the central area where there are bars, restaurants to choose from. I personally enjoy the walk along the beach in the evening to access these busier areas. It is possible to rent a motorcycle to climb the steep hill out of the resort but you have to be a very competent rider as the hill is extremely steep! The bungalows are becoming outdated, particularly the bathroom, however, some have new, quiet aircon units. All have a fridge, tv, Kettle, hairdryer & reasonably priced mini bar. There is quite a difference in size & condition of the bungalows so you have to choose carefully. Breakfast has improved , good selection of hot curries, rice, toast, eggs cooked to order, waffles, sausages etc. Steps now been taken to cover the food from flies which was a problem in the past. Food from restaurant is actually quite good, although at busy times service can be slow. Bungalows are quite expensive for what you get, but you are basically paying for location. If you don’t like the sound of the sea, then this place is not for you as the sea can sound quite loud at night especially if high tide.

Ideal if you want quiet right near town
PRO - Ideal place if you want to be on a quiet beach and very close to town - quick access from/to the ferry - room has everything you need to be comfortable CON - the staff left me with no impression in some rooms the porch or the room behind is very close to the bathroom LOCATION Very short ride from the ferry. Since most people don’t walk on this part of the beach it’s very quiet. Walking on the beach It took me 5 min to walk to the next restaurant and another 10 min into town itself. You can also drive a scooter into town in about 5min -be aware that this section of road is extremely steep and winding. You can also get a taxi for 100-150 baht. ROOM Comfortable & clean with daily housekeeping. There is a small fridge with drinks and snacks. You can also buy stuff at 7-11 and keep it in the fridge. Kettle with instant coffee and tea. AirCon works great. No ceiling fan + cannot open the window. Shower has hot water + light water pressure. No safe. The one flaw in the design is the bathroom. the Slits in the wall look out onto the porch of the room behind. It feels a little less private. not sure you can be partially seen but you can be heard. STAFF & RESTAURANT There were no smiles and that’s saying a lot in Thailand. Checkin staff were quick. Restaurant staff was reasonably quick and housekeeping did a good job. I only ate at the restaurant only once because they really left no impression. Tons of great places to eat along the beach and in town.

Relax and decompress at White Sands
Booked elsewhere, but when we didn't fond it, we booked a night here. Kayaked off the point, private hammock with a man sun bathing and reading a book. Walked down the beach for dinner. Lunch at White Sands Resort. Family cabins available.

DO NOT STAY HERE
We booked two nights through expedia, to have a nice place to stay on the beach when we arrived. We are used to worn down places, but this place was both smelly, worn down and the beach was full of garbage. After having settled in the first bungalow, we discovered that the toilet was blocked.. so we got another room. The Suite.. well.. a room filled with old carpets.. very smelly carpets... and we just couldn't imagine spending a night in that room. So we tried a third bungalow, which was ok for one night. They refused to give us back our money and even charged us for bringing us back to the main road the next day. Everything about this "resort" is worn down, and they don't seem to care that they have the dirtiest beach on the whole island. And as we discovered, the White Sand Beach has a bad rip curl, and more waves than other beaches on the island, making it unsuitable for children. Much better to go for one of the smaller resorts south of Bang Bao, where the beaches are much calmer.

A tired resort with an excellent position
A very steep incline down the cliff face which is unlit at night. On arriving they did not ask who we were and so an assumption was made, and confusion at first reigned that we had not booked etc etc and until I showed proof was then apologised to and given a chalet on the beach....great ...great views ....and very basic accomadation shared with a nocternal creature ... It didn't really bother us but a little attention here and there and this place would rock, however it seems something's not planned out right. It's basic, it's a place to sleep . The restaurant can knock up some good food, however breakfast sucks. Overall a great location, just detail missing

Heaven is a place on earth
I booked white Sands because the reviews were positive. We had a beautiful week in this resort and would certainly recommend it to anyone that want a quiet relaxing place, right next to the sea. Although the white Sands is a quiet resort, there is plenty of choice for restaurants and bars just a short walk down the beach.

Location was perfect on the beach. So lovely to wake up to the sound of the sea. The hut was small but had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good with a variety of dishes. Good restaurants a short walk away. Sea wonderful to swim in and safe.

Location, location,location!
The main reason I stay at this resort is for the location which is right on the beach. Whitesand beach can get quite busy during the peak season however the north end where this resort is located does not get busy and is the best part of the beach. Most people don't realise the beach is nicer at this end as they can't be bothered to walk there or can't see past another resort which juts out onto the beach before this resort. The rooms are dated but they are clean and contain all you need . Yes you will get a few ants but you just need to ensure you put all food in the fridge. There is aircon, tv, fridge, kettle & hotwater shower (not saltwater ) as suggested by previous reviewer. Breakfast is buffet style & is quite extensive. Food has improved greatly in my opinion & is reasonably priced. Some may find the bungalows to rustic, so if you are used to shiny floor luxury & like resorts with activities laid on , this is not for you. Other negative is access to resort is via a very steep hill so you need transport to get out but you can take a leisurely walk along the beach (about 10 mins) to reach start of the main area with all the restaurants & shops. You can book tours, bikes etc from the resort.

Wir hatten eine Hütte direkt am Strand, toller Blick aufs Meer, schöne Sonnenuntergänge. Die Hütte relativ einfach, aber das Bett war sehr gut, die Klimaanlage funktionierte, die Stühle waren bequem. Für uns ideal. Das Frühstück war gut.

Top Lage und wenig los, aber die Anlage hat hohen Renovierungsbedarf. Toilette hat ganze Zeit getropft, Fliesen schrecklich abgefugt und Wasser lief irgendwo raus nur nicht durch den Abfluss. Großer Schrank im Schlafraum vor dem Fenster, daher immer Licht notwendig. Holzbeläge in der Rezeption, Lokal sowie der Gehwege sind nicht barfuß begehbar und teilweise sehr Durchbruchgefährdet. Schade, aber sehr nettes Personal und eine wirklich schöne Lage …

Alte, heruntergekommene Anlage. Zum Teil gefährlich! Morsche Laufstege - sogar im Restaurant - sowie allseits hervorstehende rostige Nägel. Mehrere Bewohner haben sich verletzt. Resultat: Schilder aufgestellt, Nicht barfuß laufen!!

Hôtel très moyen…
L’emplacement du bungalow était bien. Mais le bungalow lui même était vétuste. Le ménage n’était pas bien fait non plus. Pour le prix, 48 euros par nuit, nous avons été habitué à un niveau de prestation bien meilleur dans les autres hôtels que nous avons fréquenté en Thaïlande. Par contre le personnel était très gentil. En conclusion, c’était cher pour une prestation plus que moyenne… enfin, l’hôtel était en bas d’une grande cote pour accéder à la route, les taxis en lien avec l’hôtel prenaient 100 bth par personne pour la remonter et regagner le centre ville alors que par la plage, c’est plat, 10 min à pied et c’est gratuit. Mais ça, personne ne vous prévient.

War alles soweit in Ordnung. Schöne Lokation, toller Strand. Bungalow sauber, nir das Duschen hat nicht geklappt. Immer wieder hat es die Sicherung raus geschmissen und dann konnte man nur noch kalt und im Dunkeln duschen. Leider haben sie es erst nach 1 Woche am letzten Tag hin bekommen, dass es funktioniert

Der 7. und mit Sicherheit der letzte Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Es war einmal eine schöne Anlage. 2022 wechselte das Management und das gesamte Personal.Der Strand und die Gartenanlage war voller Müll und wurde in 4 Wochen nicht einmal gereinigt. Dadurch war der Strand voller Sandfliegen. Die Bungalows waren in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Defekte Klimaanlagen defekte Lampen. Oft kein Strom und kein Wasser. Bei jedem stärkeren Wind flogen die Dachplatten weg.Keine Verständigung mit dem Personal im Restaurant und in der Reception möglich. (keiner spricht oder versteht auch nur 1 Wort englisch.Der Hotelmanager ist er nur alle 2 Wochen mal für einen Tag anwesend.Eine Reservierung für einen bestimmten Bungalow ist nur für Thailänder möglich. Alle langjährigen ausländischen Stammgäste, so wie wir auch, bekamen auf ihre Reservierungen per E-mail, auch nach mehreren Nachfragen keine Antwort. Bei der Ankunft wurde uns dann mitgeteilt , das die Bungalows am Strand an den Wochenenden für Thai-Gäste reserviert sind .Also mussten alle Stammgäste ständig die Bungalows wechseln.An den Wochenenden kommen dann die Thai`s aus Bangkok mit grossem Getto-Blaster, und das Hotel verwandelt sich für 3 Tage rund um die Uhr mit ohrenbetäubendem Lärm in eine Partymeile. UNERTRÄGLICH.. Am Sonntag wird dann abgereist und der Müll bleibt für immer liegen . Das Frühstücksbüffet war mal toll. Jetzt nur noch kalte Spiegeleier Toast und Ananas. Die Katzen laufen auf dem Büffet.
