This house would normally be in a good location with a direct ocean view and a lovely beach just across the street. Positives were that chairs and towels were provided, the kitchen is large, and there is a large washer and dryer. However, the rental agency did not disclose to us that there would be a major house renovation next door. The house next door was gutted during our stay, which meant loud noise from 7-8 am until evening 7 days per week. We tried to contact management repeatedly, by phone and through their app, beginning with the first day of our stay. We requested to talk to them to work something out and possibly even move to another rental place, even if it didn't have an ocean view, just to have some quiet. Management has refused to respond. The maintenance workers did come out for a few issues and they were helpful and friendly. We booked a place with a lanai looking at the ocean specifically to relax, and our relaxation was ruined. In addition, the house needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning, especially on windows and doors, and insect control (many large cockroaches, both dead and alive, one that fell on me from the ceiling). The website photo/description was inaccurate about bedding, which made for uncomfortable sleeping arrangements for those expecting their own bed in a closed bedroom rather than in the great room where shades couldn't be drawn, and the master bed was much smaller than posted. All of this could have been made right if the rental company would have just returned our messages rather than refusing to communicate. We have stayed on Kauai many times over the years, and all other experiences have been very pleasant. This is the first time using Kauai Exclusive Management, and I would not rent from them again.
