This is a great location for walkers and other tourists in this part of the lakes. The lake side location is an extra bonus.

Beautiful property in a quiet location right on the lake. The bedrooms/bathrooms could do with a bit of a refresh but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

Great location on the shores of Thirlmere. Because of Covid Hotel restaurant was closed and couldn’t find a pub or Restaurant locally where you could sit down for a meal as everywhere was fully booked for the 3 nights we were there.

The beautiful gardens. Very disappointed in catering no restaurant no warning about this prior warning could have ate before arrival.. a 12 mile round trip to eat.. breakfast very poor in a bag!!! One sandwich,a croissant, tea ,and a banana.. poor value for money paid... room very dark and dingy!! Poor lighting decor poor..

Best location - right on lake - with lake view rooms very nice Quiet - feels private your own lake very nice walk unfortunately the Restorant was closed due to covid-19 but with Restorant working you do not need anything else it is totally self contained place right on lake we will always go there .

Very clean as you'd expect given covid 2020. Lovely place in a superb location for the mountains. Eerily quiet so for me thats a win win.

We were very disappointed with our room, it was really shabby & tired looking.. although the views were spectacular.. we had to choose our grab and go breakfast before we had even finished checking in, which I thought strange. We weren’t advised when booking that the hotel dining room was closed due to COVID-19, & were told what time our breakfast would be delivered to our room, I would have liked a choice.

Amazing location and views across the lake. Room was a little tired and could have been cleaner. Would have been nice to have been told the restaurant was closed before we arrived and also a note in the room about the water (from its own treatment system)

Great Location. Expensive B&B with NO Breakfast
The Location is great, our Room (No5) was perfect with an unrestricted view across to the Lake. However due to CV19 restrictions there was No Restaurant or Bar. Hotels.com which made no mention on this so I paid £200 a night for a B&B without any Breakfast. Low mark for staff as we only saw the owner on arrival when he delivered the bad news. Whilst the Room was clean the whole place needs some refurbishment (and new Carpets)

As advertised on all our sites the restaurant has been temporarily closed. We do offer a bar service at present for drinks in the lounge or out on our lake view terrace. Breakfast is indeed available and as advised is being offered to your room and at check in you were offered this and talked through our new continental menu. You chose to decline this commenting that you don't normally eat breakfast. We apologise if you only saw Philip I can assure you there are plenty of us around. We are glad you enjoyed your room and found it nice and clean. We are as always refurbishing different parts of the hotel perhaps our style is not to your taste.

View from our room was gorgeous. The hotel was delivering breakfast to our room due to Covid, and it was lovely having our breakfast looking out onto the lake.

Booked for two nights to enjoy some walking. Stayed in four poster room 14. Could only stay one night as our bed was so uncomfortable we barely slept and suffered back pain. The mattress was so old, cheap and uncomfortably you could actually feel the springs digging into you. Management didn’t seem too bothered about this. No apology and no offer of refund. This hotel has so much potential as one of the best locations in the lakes overlooking Thirlmere. Please, please replace your mattress.

Lovely location down on the lake. Bar was cosy, breakfast was freshly cooked and filling, with just a short walk to the nearest pub for dinner. All around a good venue!

Anniversary weekend
Dale Head Hall overall is a nice place . The room No 5 has a splendid view of the lake. We had the 4 course meal which was beautiful and well presented. The staff were friendly , however I would have to say Dale Head lacks atmosphere.. No background music either in bar area or dining area which adds a little ambience. we spent most of our time in our room.. If you want somewhere isolated , very quiet then you would like Dale Head.

Comfortable hotel with excellent lake views
Comfortable hotel and lovely room (11) with excellent garden and lake views. The hotel could have better security lighting around the car park and entrance as the hotel is in a very dark and secluded area. Whilst having lovely views, the breakfast room was quite uninspiring although the breakfast provided was very tasty. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The shower could have been warmer. However we spent a comfortable three nights at the hotel and enjoyed our short break despite the very wet weather.

Peace and charm at Dale Head Hall Hotel
Lovely old hotel in a perfect spot. Wonderful views with peace and quiet thrown in. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was wonderful. Would certainly recommend this hotel and visit again.
