Well, arrived at reception around 2.30pm, no one to be seen. Had to use the phone to call for someone to come and check us in. Tried at that point to charge us for the dog, when I had received communications via Hotel.com that the room (which was a more expensive one) was not one of their dog friendly rooms, so they have moved us to a different dog room and we wouldn’t be charged for the dog. Room, in fact the whole hotel was very tried, in need of a refresh, updating and some heating on. Bar are extremely cold where we had to sit for dinner and breakfast with the dog. Service slow, other tables who arrived later than us served before etc even after I requested if someone could take our order. Pool, jacuzzi out of order for the weekend!!!! One reason why I booked the hotel. Food average, to say the least. Room had not been hovered, and bathroom floor had dust, hair etc on it. Check out, once again tried to charge me for the dog!!! Person in front of use was complaining that their room had not been cleaned as they found food etc on the floor!!! Sorry lovely setting but let down by the ‘old, dated, cold’ hotel, food and service.
