"Good if you just need a place to sleep"
This is a good place if you only need somewhere to sleep while in Kaua'i. However, the hotel only has about 10 TV channels, several of which are Hawaii local advertisement channels and one which is QVC. Also, the cell phone service is not great in the rooms. The hotel offers wifi but it does not work at all in the room. Lastly, the free breakfast is sliced pineapple, sliced oranges, and toast. That's it. As I said, the room itself is great, clean, and spacious. And I highly recommend it for someone who just needs a place to sleep. But it is not somewhere to hang for hours.

"Great location, great facilities, right price!"
We were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel is older but has been recently renovated. The rooms are very comfortable and all of the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Our favourite was the Lava Lava Beach Club where we had breakfast most mornings as well as dinner a couple of nights. There is a fantastic protected beach right next door to the hotel that you can access from near the beach, unfortunately we found it on our last day!

"On the beach but Front Desk Staff was horrible"
We got to the Front Desk and said we had reservations and the name on the reservation. The woman seemed to search on her computer then started whispering into the phone extremely quietly. This went on for over 10 minutes before I asked her "what was going on?". She did not answer me just continued to whisper on the phone for a lot longer. This continued until I said "what's going on?" A little louder, then louder again and the woman screeched and looked at me in what can only be described as horror. It was extremely hot and we were tired from our early flight, which got in around 11:30 am. I said I wanted to talk to a manager, and out comes a young woman who proceeded to put me in my place. She insisted that they didn't have a reservation for us and that it was my problem. I told her we had paid over $4,000 for the 10 vacation and it was decidedly THEIR problem. She continued to argue with me for a long time. I had used EXPEDIA to book the vacation and she said not her problem. I told her that Sheraton had a relationship with EXPEDIA and it was her problem. This went on back and forth for a long time. Never was this woman nice, or kind, and certainly not like service in other hotels. She did not apologize for the RUDENESS of the first woman at the front desk. She had asked us to move away from the front desk to a seating area, where we were well away from others checking in. When she finally found us a room, it was super tiny. It took 3 nights Before a decent room.

"Great little hotel on the beach. "
Modern room with a home town feel. Small bites breakfast was a great start to the day chatting with the staff and other guests. An absolutely amazing beach view with free bikes to take advantage of the prime location on the bike path. Just a few blocks to restaurants and shops. Karen, Chris and Ms Peggy were fantastic hosts!

" right on the beach in a central location "
No complaints with the hotel other than crowded parking lot that is due to other businesses , I've stayed twice and will stay again. I would give a five star if they offered food and brought back the tiki bar coffee in the am.

"A short walk across the lawn and voila, the beach!"
We spent most mornings at the beach, swimming and snorkeling. Afternoons we rested under the cool fans in the condo. Took walks in the late afternoon to the beach and the little shopping center, and nearby restaurants. One evening we ate at Garden Plantation, an old house on the property that takes one back in time. We sat on the veranda watching the swaying trees, the beautiful shrubs and flowers, and ate delicious fish dinners. A memorable occasion!

"Nice hotel but there are issues"
When we arrived at the hotel we were aware of the construction going on. This was not a problem until we were shown our 'partial ocean view' which consisted of looking out onto a dumpster! We told the front desk that we wanted another room, only to be told that there was not one available until the next day. Our first day of vacation was ruined because of this. The following day we were put into a beautiful room which we loved, but we should not have been placed in a room over looking the construction site in the first place. Next point: the annoying, aggressive time share people! Of course we were ready for them, as we encounter them at most vacation resorts these days. We told them that under no circumstances would we ever buy a time share, were not going to their presentation, etc. However, they kept calling us and hassling us about it. Also, we all woke up in the mornings with bug bites on us (four people in three different rooms.) This was AFTER the exterminators had fumigated the room.... Also, the housekeeping service was erratic - we never knew when the maids would come in and clean the room. We ended up washing the towels ourselves because we couldn't figure out their schedule. Having said all of this, the complex is a beautiful place. The second room we had was perfect, with a great view of the ocean. The landscaping is spectacular and the pool was unique. There was also a nice gym and sauna. The hotel is right by the ocean with a walking path nearby.

    Accommodation in Kauai Island

Kauai is known as the Garden Island and is the least developed of the eight islands that make up Hawaii. Come to enjoy unspoilt nature and breathe the clean, unpolluted air. Kayak to the waterfall on Wailua River, go snorkelling at Ke’e Beach or Haena Beach Park to discover new underwater worlds, or hike the rainforest on Kalalau Trail. If you are looking for adventure, take to the sky at one of several zipline adventure parks, book a scenic flight over the island, or surf the big waves at Poipu Beach or Hanalei Bay. Spectacular canyons and waterfalls will get you in the right holiday mood in no time, and there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained from sunrise till sunset on Kauai.

    Places to stay

Looking for places to stay on your Kauai holiday? How about a beach resort or boutique hotel? The largest concentration of Kauai accommodation can be found on the Royal Coconut Coast, on the eastern side of the island. Many inexpensive resorts can be found here. Poipu in the south is nicknamed ‘the sunny side of paradise,’ and is equally popular with tourists. Plenty of apartments to rent exist in Princeville on the northern shore.

    Getting there and around

Most visitors to Kauai arrive at Lihue Airport (LIH). You can also fly to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) first, then on to Kauai. The best way to discover the island is with a rental car. While there are shuttle buses to many hotels in Kauai, it is difficult to get to the attractions of the island without a car.

    Book today

Why not book a rental car and accommodation in Kauai right here on Expedia.com.au today? We will offer you cheap deals on both and always run specials to help you save even more money, cash you could spend on more exciting things like helicopter flights over the island or kitesurfing lessons.
