Sheraton Kauai Resort - Koloa Hotels

"Fabulous location! Calm, relaxing environment. "
We stayed a week and found the Sheraton a great location for experiencing Kauai. The south shore Po'ipu area is ideal, with great weather and numerous beaches. The Resort has a calm, low-key vibe. We stayed in the gardenview side (building 7 across the road from the lobby and ocean-view side). It was just lovely to sit on our lanai overlooking the beautiful gardens and pool area. At times we had the pool all to ourselves as most guests use the oceanfront pool. The lobby and oceanfront areas are very attractive and a real gathering place at sunset. The room was clean, although small. The bathroom - a bit dated looking and ready for updating. Nice to have a fridge and coffee maker. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. On our last day, they gave us a late checkout and encouraged us to use the resort amenities after checkout. They offered the use of a Hospitality Suite so we could grab a quick shower and freshen up before heading to Lihue and the airport for our late evening flight. This was absolutely wonderful.

"Updated hotel right on the beach."
Very nice location right on the beach. Nice renovations with great decorations and very very friendly staff. Our only complaint was the bed. It was super firm. Very uncomfortable. We woke up around 6am every morning because our back pain wouldn't allow us to sleep anymore. We asked if all the rooms had the same beds and the answer was yes so there was no point in a room change. We simply went to Walmart and bought a mattress pad (1st time we had to do that while staying at a hotel) and it helped a little. On a positive note, being up at 6 or earlier every morning ensured we didn't sleep our vacation away! All in all it was fine. Especially for the price.

"Fantastic hotel !"
The hotel location, view and staff were amazing. Hotel rooms were very comfortable and clean. Could have done without the large "peep show" window in the shower overlooking the room. So if anybody went to bathroom during night - the light flooded the room even when it was in "smoked" mode.

"Compact, Family friendly for budget stay "
The rooms were good, overall. But this is a old property and we even spotted insects (cockroaches) inside the room. Staff was courteous and took care of the needs. Beach access in 5 minutes. Close by shopping is a major plus.

Where to stay in Kauai Island?

Kauai is known as the Garden Island and is the least developed of the eight islands that make up Hawaii. Come to enjoy unspoilt nature and breathe the clean, unpolluted air. Kayak to the waterfall on Wailua River, go snorkelling at Ke’e Beach or Haena Beach Park to discover new underwater worlds, or hike the rainforest on Kalalau Trail. If you are looking for adventure, take to the sky at one of several zipline adventure parks, book a scenic flight over the island, or surf the big waves at Poipu Beach or Hanalei Bay. Spectacular canyons and waterfalls will get you in the right holiday mood in no time, and there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained from sunrise till sunset on Kauai.

    Places to stay

Looking for places to stay on your Kauai holiday? How about a beach resort or boutique hotel? The largest concentration of Kauai accommodation can be found on the Royal Coconut Coast, on the eastern side of the island. Many inexpensive resorts can be found here. Poipu in the south is nicknamed ‘the sunny side of paradise,’ and is equally popular with tourists. Plenty of apartments to rent exist in Princeville on the northern shore.

    Getting there and around

Most visitors to Kauai arrive at Lihue Airport (LIH). You can also fly to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) first, then on to Kauai. The best way to discover the island is with a rental car. While there are shuttle buses to many hotels in Kauai, it is difficult to get to the attractions of the island without a car.

    Book today

Why not book a rental car and accommodation in Kauai right here on today? We will offer you cheap deals on both and always run specials to help you save even more money, cash you could spend on more exciting things like helicopter flights over the island or kitesurfing lessons.
