"Nice"
The hotel was very nice. What really stands out is the pool area. It is beautiful and they have excellent prices for full day cabanas with a great view of the beach. The beach is lovely to look at but was very very rough with quite strong currents. The rooms were nice and clean although it took us two days to get hand soap for the sink. My only complaint was that there was quite a bit of construction that was never mentioned on their website or in any confirmation emails we received. I feel like we should have been warned about this ahead of time so that we could have made a decision to best optimize our relaxation or given a room discount for the inconvenience. You mostly go to these places for relaxation and it's very hard to optimize this when you are being awoken every day at 7 am by construction. Otherwise a pleasant stay on the best island in Hawaii

"Cute with a homey feel to it"
The woman who checked us in was so nice and talkative! The location isn't desirable, since it isn't close to the beach and it was in a little sketchy area. It also wasn't the cheapest on the island either, but since it was the second cheapest I tried it. The room was very cute and it reminded me of a bedroom you would see in your house. Very clean with a small bathroom and shower. The worst part was that you could hear everything going on outside, just like you would at your house! I have never stayed in a hotel where I could hear people talking and cars driving away on gravel before. Thankfully we paid the extra for air conditioning and it came with a ceiling fan so those were loud enough to cover any quieter noises at night but we did wake up a few times from louder people and cars driving away.

Nice hotel and good location and has been update but the rust in some places still could be seen. When opening the sliding door on the patio the a/c will shut off and this is a good energy saving device. Nope that Verizon cell service is very uneven around the area, the staff was very quick to point this out.

"Great relaxing vacation at Koa Kea"
Loved the Koa Kea! This is a great location to get away from it all. Although it's located next to large properties, it's much more intimate and doesn't have the crowds. Great place for couples. Wonderful and friendly staff. Great restaurant. Close to shops and other restaurants if you want to venture out. Valet service was exceptional. 5 stars.

"Great place to lay your head. "
A great little hotel just up the road from Lihue, a few blocks from the town of Kapaa. We were hiking all over the island for three days and didn't need anything fancy or romantic as it was and mother son trip. Great place for great value. The rooms were clean and roomy. The bathroom was nice and there were two nice pools available as well as a lovely little beach at the edge of the lawn. They had a little coffee area in the mornings set up for the guests as well. It was a perfect place to crash each night after long days of exploring. It was under construction in one area and I'm hopeful that when they complete it the prices won't increase.

Where to stay in Kauai Island?

Kauai is known as the Garden Island and is the least developed of the eight islands that make up Hawaii. Come to enjoy unspoilt nature and breathe the clean, unpolluted air. Kayak to the waterfall on Wailua River, go snorkelling at Ke’e Beach or Haena Beach Park to discover new underwater worlds, or hike the rainforest on Kalalau Trail. If you are looking for adventure, take to the sky at one of several zipline adventure parks, book a scenic flight over the island, or surf the big waves at Poipu Beach or Hanalei Bay. Spectacular canyons and waterfalls will get you in the right holiday mood in no time, and there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained from sunrise till sunset on Kauai.

    Places to stay

Looking for places to stay on your Kauai holiday? How about a beach resort or boutique hotel? The largest concentration of Kauai accommodation can be found on the Royal Coconut Coast, on the eastern side of the island. Many inexpensive resorts can be found here. Poipu in the south is nicknamed ‘the sunny side of paradise,’ and is equally popular with tourists. Plenty of apartments to rent exist in Princeville on the northern shore.

    Getting there and around

Most visitors to Kauai arrive at Lihue Airport (LIH). You can also fly to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) first, then on to Kauai. The best way to discover the island is with a rental car. While there are shuttle buses to many hotels in Kauai, it is difficult to get to the attractions of the island without a car.

    Book today

Why not book a rental car and accommodation in Kauai right here on Expedia.com.au today? We will offer you cheap deals on both and always run specials to help you save even more money, cash you could spend on more exciting things like helicopter flights over the island or kitesurfing lessons.
