The Astrology gardens of the late Richard Sterling, well known Australian Astrologer to the Stars, famous TV personality, concert pianist, magazine columnist and author who created these magical gardens, literally carved into the escarpment and lived here between 1964~2017.

Sterling Manor has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 people. This property is not pet friendly.
Is a large double bedroom with an opulent Queen bed and eclectic mirrored wall. The room is carpeted in the original Axminster carpet, chosen by Richard himself hence shoes are left outside with slippers provided. This light filled room overlooks a beautiful rose and rhododendron garden. There is a large 3 seater sofa. All beds are fitted with electric blankets and the rooms have hydronic heating in winter.
Bedroom 2: (converted loungeroom)
Features a comfortable double bed
and a single ottoman sofa bed. This room includes original chandeliers and 2 lounge suites with views of the Valley to wake to. A glass coffee table, magazines and an enormous quartz crystal cluster. There is a bookshelf with many books, cards and board games.
For extra guests there is a double sofa bed, in the dining room, fitted with mattress topper for extra comfort.
All beds are fitted with hotel quality white linen.
We can also provide an extra fold up bed on request.

Sterling Manor has a calming quality or energy, helping you to relax and feel at home. All rooms have hydronic heating to keep you warm in winter. This 1950's double brick house is also very cool in summer and fitted with blinds and fans.
The dining room - or "View Room", with floor to ceiling windows, captures the most breathtaking views of the Valley, with an amazing sunrise to wake to. A table that seats up to 6 people located beside the kitchen. The room also has a TV and DVD with dvd's supplied in the cupboard opposite.
The kitchen also with views, is self contained with dishwasher, microwave, gas cook top, oven and large fridge. Some staples can be found in the pantry, plus tea/ coffee and milk pods to start you off.
The view over the valley is far closer than the view from The Hydro Majestic and Lilianfels with 3 times the space..... you're in for a real treat!
The art deco bathroom has a deep bathtub, shower and heating.
Sterling Manor is the ground floor duplex with it's own separate entrance to the right side of the house, with a lock box for self check in, on the wall beside your entrance door.
Guests are welcome to use the outdoor furniture and wander through the Garden of the Stars. The gardens are the only shared area where you may meet guests from around the world, and make new friends, so please say G'Day (an aussie expression) as you would in any hotel or bed and breakfast.
A 50 YEAR HISTORY:
Richard Sterling well known Australian Astrologer and his wife Joy opened the gardens and home to many charities over the years and would often entertain guests and TV personalities with his grand piano. An accomplished pianist himself who played in an orchestra in London in his late 20's. He attended the Conservatorium of Music with Dame Joan Sutherland the famous opera singer and were close friends in the days when she was just Joan.
Richard went on to be Australia’s most celebrated Astrologers with his own Television show - “ It’s in the Stars” during the 60’s.$
The property was purchased by the current owner Dalia in April 2017 and upgraded to it's former glory.
For those interested there is a green folder with old magazines of Richard's Astrology columns in the Women's Weekly which he wrote for 20 years dating back to the 1980's.
In Spring these award winning gardens, come alive with daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, peach and cherry blossoms, magnolia, rhododendron and many colourful birds. A gardener's and photographer's dream .
The tranquil gardens will of course offer you a variety of flowers throughout the year and we encourage you to return in Spring to experience it's ultimate beauty and splendour.
Dalia has lovingly revived the gardens with many new plants and bulbs to bring joy to her guests.

Sterling Manor is centrally located and 300 metres to Echo Point and the Three Sisters. Parking is on the street and you will find a free parking voucher on the hallway table. Extra guests should request a parking voucher if required as the street is metered.
