Nestled in the picturesque Great Barossa Valley, Jacobs Creek Vineyard is an all-encompassing wine estate with a range of sophisticated food and wine experiences. Take a cooking class, match wine with food, learn about the fermenting process, explore the vineyards and discover the history of the Barossa’s first commercial vineyard. You can even hire a bike and cycle through the Barossa with a picnic and a bottle of wine.

In 1847, Bavarian immigrant Johann Gramp planted the first grapes, founding Orlando Wines and the Jacob Creek Vineyard. The vineyard grew to become one of the biggest wine and spirits groups in the country and one of the most lucrative exporters of Australian wine. In 1993 it was named exporter of the year and has been instrumental in developing the outstanding international reputation that Australian wines enjoy. Today, the multi-award winning estate boasts an excellent restaurant, culinary courses, wine tastings, and ecological and historic vineyard tours.

Meander between rows of vineyards while a friendly guide explains the craft of wine making, from viticulture to fermentation. Discover the differences between white and red vinification and the qualities that set Jacobs Creek’s wines apart from other brands. Appreciate the art of wine tasting, discern the characteristics of certain varieties and learn how to match wine with food.

Indulge your taste buds in a wine and food sensory experience sit down to a meal at Visitors Centre or pick produce from the garden to prepare a meal during the outdoor cooking class. For a day in the sunshine, hire a bike from the vineyard, with its pack of gourmet treats and bottle of wine, and explore the vineyards at your own pace on the Jack Bobridge Bike Trail.

Enjoy a history and eco-tour of the estate. Walk along the creek, listen to the birds and hear stories about the generations of Gramp family who made the vineyard what it is today.

Jacobs Creek Vineyard is based in the Barossa Valley. It is approximately a 1-hour drive from Adelaide and free parking is available. The Visitors Centre is open daily. Entry to the Visitors Centre is free, however all the tours and courses are priced.
