"I stayed at the Wheatsheaf Inn because I was working in the area. My room was comfortable, with a nice en-suite shower room. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. The rooms are to the side of the pub, which serves excellent breakfast and evening meals. Plenty of parking available. I'd definitely stay here again if working locally. Good value too. "

"Very much enjoyed our one night stay last weekend. Easy access and good communication when I did not receive the initial instructions to get me sorted. Spacious room, lovely decor, in great condition and clean. Liked the toiletries and liked the included orange juice and porridge pots. Also very much enjoyed the cafe just a few steps away after checking out. Our room was over the front of the bistro so there was some noise from the busy Saturday night bistro below, but it was quite around 11 so not a problem at all. Good elec shower, but could not get any hot water at sink in the morning (didn’t matter too much as had a shower for hot water, but did seem strange as all worked well the evening before). "

Great food, great value

"The room was a little tired, but still perfectly clean and servicable. Water pressure in the bathroom was a little low, but still usable. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. There was a kettle with the usual hot drinks available, plus a TV. Soaps and gels were provided in mini bottles. All staff encountered were extremely helpful and approachable/friendly. The food was amazing, definitely worth returning for another visit for some more! The restaurant/bar area looked amazing with exposed timber beams, great carvings above the bar; it was a lovely and well preserved environment. I would recommend this property and would happily return again."

"Lovely Sussex country setting. The bedrooms are all very cosy and tastefully decorated. The bathroom in our suite was very luxurious. Modern tv in the room with streamed channels available. Plenty of sockets for charging phones, etc. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and took very good care of us - thank you."
