Lack of care
The Westin Resort Guam used to be THE spot for luxury and consistency in high quality service and amenities. This visit was unfortunately none of that and the main reason was the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom sink was draining slowly because the stopper was covered in gunk and hair. We were only there for two nights and we called the front desk in the morning after our first night to request that they clean the sink. They said someone would handle it that day. Nothing. We called again that afternoon and still, nothing. That night, we delivered said sink stopper to the front desk so they could see for themselves but by that time, it was too late as we were leaving early the next morning. We also had to ask the housekeeper to sweep the floor for us as she was about to leave the room without doing so. These seem like basic things for any hotel but especially for the Westin and at almost $400 a night, there is really no excuse for dirty rooms.

Unfortunately, they didn’t prepare for the room that I booked and they even said that there was nothing they can do until the hotel manager showed up. The office manager did her best, but I don’t think I will stay this hotel again.

The property is not a 5 Star Westin as you are used to. This hotel has extreme mold all on the outside. The bathrooms are filled with black mold. They play very loud music every night and since the rooms are circular going up, you can hear everything. It goes from 6:30pm to 9:30pm EVERY NIGHT!! This is NOT a hotel to go to if you are on business. You will not be able to work in a quiet room or get to sleep before 9:30pm. I will never stay here again while in Guam. Staff are friendly but have no say so over anything when something is wrong. They always say I cannot help you, but maybe my manager can.

Expected better
I thought I would have a much better time considering it was my wife and I’s honeymoon. Overall, my stay was okay. Check-in time was 3PM but the room wasn’t ready and I even arrived around 4PM. They also tried to charge my wife and I for having our Service Dog with us too. We had to remind and show them that it is against the law to do that. A corner of the room smelled of urine. We only stayed a few days so all in all it wasn’t too bad.

Some of our housekeeping requests were not provided. None of the toiletries were replenished, even the toilet paper spines were not replaced and left hanging empty. Bathroom was also not thoroughly cleaned.

Great hotel
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the view was nice. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping and eating. It was sad to see that many of the stores had to close because of covid, but was told that several are scheduled to reopen.
