The diamond sands resort appears to be lovely. We entered our room & it smelt revolting. My children said it smelt like dogs had been living there. No heating either. I found 2small fan heaters. 1 didn't heat & the other rattled & wobbled around so it was impossible to use. Rather unsafe infact. It was extremely dissapointing. Wouldn't stay again.

Not sure why the guest did not turn the heating on the the reverse cycle air conditioning.

Very accomodating
Very friendly staff, close to cafes and resturants all within a 5-10 min walk. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean. Some interior doors needed maintenance but only subtle. The pool is amazing and the staff are very accomodating

This is our second family stay at Diamond Sands and we will definately be staying here again for future family holidays. The staff are friendly and helpful. The unit and grounds are clean and inviting. The location is central to our needs with shops and the beach close by. The lagoon pool was a hit with the whole family.

The wifi was down so that was a bit annoying because I was relying on it and I had to purchase extra data.

Spacious and well resourced apartment - disappointed no air conditioning upstairs. Initial entry off the road was tricky due to lack of parking to sign in and a gated entry needing a code - this might be awkward during peak hours. Grounds appear to be well maintained and reception staff were friendly. Would have liked to have stayed more than one night in future if there was aircon in the bedrooms.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review. The apartment complexes built pre 2005 on the Gold Coast were not constructed with ducted air con - merely air con in the lounge and ceiling fans in the bed rooms.

Did not like having to walk up stairs snd the showers in both bsthrooms dripped. There were a fee tills in the dinning area were loose. I liked the location. Recepyion staff were very pleasent and helpful.

The hotel room was dirty, the beds had sand in them. The fridge had three legs and when we rang to alert them to the fact that the fridge was falling forward and on to us when we opened it, we were told that no one was coming up to fix it. The floor near the front door was floating and the tiles move as you walk on them. The $50 fee that you need to sign off on when you check in that stipulates that you need to remove ALL rubbish and wash and pack up any crockery you use SHOULD be advertised BEFORE you book and pay. The veranda and table outside was dirty. The shower was horrific and hurt when standing underneath it. When we provided this feedback to the management, he responded with "there is nothing that I can do about it".

My family was bitten by wasps on the veranda which clearly had not been cleaned in a long time and on complaining to management they were extremely rude and did not care less and just told us to leave if we didn't like it....would never stay they again

Great Experience
The Rooms were good and a great feeling to stay in a double story house. It will fun for anyone to stay outside and have some beer to relax the day.

Apartment was in a terrible condition for the price I paid. There was still food crumbs and hair all over the floor so obviously the apartment hadn’t been cleaned. Had to take your own rubbish away otherwise they charge you a $50 cleaning fee.

Nice stay but a few issues
We did enjoy the stay at diamond sands however the high performance car we drove into the car parking area has had the bottom scraped severely from the high angle of the driveway off the roundabout. We didn't think that the rule in which all rubbish has to be removed by us was strange but we did comply.

Thanks for submitting your review. As far as I am aware, the majority of guests consider it a matter of etiquette to remove their rubbish on departure, especially in sub tropical climates with the variety of pests around. Our driveways are cambered to ensure the torrential rain in the rainy season is quickly dispelled.

Thanks for taking the time to review. As you would probably understand, all our apartments are privately owned and the owners do not make a return on their investment. It is only a matter of time at Diamond Sands before all the apartments are occupied by live in owners and there will be no holiday apartments available.

I was shocked at lovely it all was for the price. Got so much more than I expected. Large, roomy, comfy, everything we needed like washers/dryers etc, the pool area is stunning and it was the cleanest hotel I have every stayed in. All round fantastic value for money

A Very Good Holiday!
We had a lovely stay. Our unit was on the quiet side of the complex so there was no traffic noise. The facilities were very good. The unit was well equipped, and the undercover security parking was conveniently located. The location of the units was very central to the beach and shopping etc. The management seemed to be very busy with contractors doing maintenance work. We found everything to be very clean and well kept. We will return.

Good value for money
We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit, which was well equipped but a bit tired and dated. The linen was clean and fresh but the overall unit looked like it needed a good clean and a freshen up. Aircon unit in the family room worked well but no aircon in the bedrooms only ceiling fans with low speed only. Parking is also a problem if you have more than one car.

It is only a matter of a couple of years before there will be no holiday apartments at Diamond Sands and all will be occupied by live in owners. Our website does specify there is air con in the lounge and ceiling fans in the bed rooms and there is only one car park.

Great value and excellent staff
We stayed for one night with my husband, mother-in-law and 2 kids. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Complex is secure with fobs needed to open gates. The grounds are neat and well kept. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment/townhouse. Very large, spacious and clean. There was airconcitioning downstairs which was a necessity in over 30 degree day. However no aircon upstairs, which we would have wanted especially with a hot night and a 9wk old infant. There are fans in the 3 upstairs bedrooms, which is an ok compensation. Our lounge backed onto the pool area. With a 2 year old, it was very handy to be able to just walk out and have a quick dip (as our time was limited). The pool area is divine and ideal for children. There is an area with sand/small beach for them to paddle in, and a deeper area for the adults. The toadstool water feature is a lot of fun. The location is a convenient drive to beach and shops. However it’s on the west-side of the highway, so with kids, a walk to the beach is not ‘do-able’. Overall we rated it 4/5 stars as value for money is great. We will certainly come back and stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay, albeit short.

stayed in a 2 bedroom ,2 story townhouse with lock up garage, Loved it. At approx $225 per night for 4 adults on the Australia day weekend, not bad really. Room was quiet, beds and pillows comfy and pool and gardens are brilliant. Only thing i would say is yes the room could do with being painted sometime soon and a really thorough clean. Also downstairs only was air conditioned and fans upstairs so pretty hot up stairs but leave the air cond on and the fans overnight and it cooled to an acceptable level once the sun went down and the fans were really quiet. Would definatley stop here again, after all you get what you pay for and this place is over 20 years old , so commonsense says it might be due for some attention at this stage or may have recently had refurbishments. Do your research properly and ask for such details from the property before booking a room and making complaints unless they are truly justified.Thanks for a great weekend from a family that has stayed at many properties on the Gold Coast and have you on our list of places we would return to, the Gold Coast does have far worse

we stayed room 36. very quiet, has own courtyard, pool is just out of the room, each room has balcony, short walk to the beautiful beach. not trendy stylish hotel but very relaxing nice hotel! highly recommended!
