Bamboo is located in Galveston’s East End Historic District minutes from the Historic Strand, beach, cruise terminal, and UTMB.

Bamboo is a historic cottage that has been completely renovated, built in 1910 with 1100 sq ft, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, comfortably furnished, sleeping 4 with a king-size bed in bedroom one and a queen size bed in bedroom 2. Bamboo is a private home, not a corporate rental. Sorry, no more than 4 guests at the home.
Bamboo has hardwood floors, central air/ heat, WI-Fi, a smart TV, and a washer /dryer. The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless appliances, an island with bar stools, and equipped with all the appliances, pots/pans, and dinnerware you’ll need.
The bathroom has both a bathtub and a separate walk-in shower.
The back deck has outdoor eating and sitting areas and overlooks an Asian-inspired garden which has been featured on two Galveston Garden Tours.
A children's public park is 1 block away and two famous eateries are a 2 blocks walk.

Great Stay, cozy cottage!
We had a great time at this house, everything was clean and true to description. Beautiful garden in the back. Richard the property manager was very helpful, prompt, and courteous. 10/10, would recommend.

Overall good, could be great with small changes
The house is nice, it was clean and the photos are accurate of the space. We would rate the space as food rather than great because of a handful of small things. These things might seem like nitpicking but stood out to us on our stay. 1) The closet in the master bedroom has a padlock on it and a mirror in front of the door. While there is a freestanding wardrobe to use in the room there are no drawers. Plus with the closet being locked there is no place to tuck your luggage away. 2) The woven rugs throughout the house are quite literally painful to bare feet. And with it being a beach house, feet are often bare. My husband actually had to wear sandals indoors, which he typically would not do, because of how uncomfortable they are. 3)The bathroom space could be greatly improved with a few small changes. The mismatched older towels just don’t feel like a vacation. Plus there we only 2 washcloths for a family of 4. Additionally there is a large basket in the bathroom which could be great for a guests items, but it’s filled with a hodgepodge of random items and half empty bottles of lotion and such. 4) Lastly the backyard space is quite pretty but it’s miserable to go out back because the process of locking the back door is a nightmare. It honestly took my husband and I 5 minutes or more to get the door to lock after going out. Again, the overall space was nice, clean and as anticipated. It’s just these small areas that if improved upon could really make a difference in the experience.

All around great place to stay
It was a very nice place to stay ! I wish it would have had a few big pots and pans but we made due with what we had . we found a dirty bowl in the dishwasher, no biggy I just washed it and put it up . Some food still caked on the counters but we just wiped everything down before we used counters , I clean houses for a living so I know that some things get missed . Master bed was pretty hard as well ! But overall nice place to stay

Beware Of This Property
Where should I start? Upon our arrival, we drove around the block several times looking for the property, but kept passing it up due to the wild bushes, trees and shrubs that surrounded the home. It looked as if the property had not been maintained in years. After finally identifying the property, we immediately noticed the garbage can outside of the home overflowing with trash and garbage bags on the ground. To be greeted by these conditions after an almost six hour commute, was needless to say extremely disappointing. Maneuvering our way through the wild landscaping to locate the front door of the property very was challenging. It was nothing like the picture displayed on Vrbo. As we approached the front door of the home, there was a smell that wreaked of water damage and cigarette smoke. As we opened the door the the pungent odor hit us right in the face. We immediately knew that we could not stay there and made the conscious decision to check into a hotel. We contacted the property manager in an effort to explain our experience and concerns, however the property manager became extremely defensive and refused to refund our money. Since there was no resolve with the property manager, we opened up a case with Vrbo, sent them photos of the overflowing garbage and the poorly maintained home. They did absolutely nothing. We were blown away! We were extremely mislead and are disappointed that both the property owner and Vrbo did nothing to try and remedy the problem. Our trip was ruined and we lost our money all because there are no consequences in place for people who misinterpret properties. Who protects the customer in all of this? It’s sad that people can get away with this kind of false advertising in 2022. You have been forewarned. Stay at your own risk!

Family Vacation
This house was amazing for my two children, my spouse, and me. It was in a nice neighborhood and we did not have any trouble. It was a quick trip to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch before our day started or while winding down for the night. The house was clean and well maintained.
