Wine & Books by the Sea, Algarve Resort

"The overall stay was great, there were some areas of the hotel that were under construction and not able to be used (separate adults pool and day club area) and the gym had way too much equipment for the small space. Once there was 6 people working out, people were all on top of each other, but I know a lot of people don’t work out on vacation. The rooms were clean and spacious for two people with large suitcases, clean bathroom and plenty of storage and hanging space. My only problem with the room was no full length mirror, I am 5’3” and the mirror in the room only showed shoulders and up, so I had to stand on the bed to get a full view. Property was nice and staff was great! About 45min drive to Lagos and 25min to Albuferia. Easy walk to the beach and the boardwalk. Food was a little overpriced at the resort for lunch and dinner for what it was, but still nice."

"Nice location. Almost non existing swiming poll. Lots of noise from the chiller on the adejecente building. No soap no shower gel no shampoo. In summary iit s very far from a 4 star lodging"

"2 out of 4 rooms we booked had issues. Breakfast was good. No space reserved for the hotel at the beach. Gym opens at 10AM and close at 8PM. We add ants and cockcruch in the rooms."

"Family of 5 can’t fault anything from start to finish Welcome by front of staff lovely, rooms lovely, facilities lovely, food was excellent Great location peaceful and only a short walk (10/15mins) to loads of places to eat supermarkets etc, gale beach is a must visit, more sheltered in the cove than salgados (small train hotel run a life saver for tired legs) Will 100 percent be back and recommend"

"Great vacation spot to unwind and enjoy your time by the ocean. Very clean, great breakfast and coffee, the walk on the beach is fabulous and restaurants on resort and walking distance are incredible. Sunsets are 10/10!"

"Property was very dated and smelt stale. New towels etc were provided on the second week that were also stale smelling.The en suite bathrooms were extremely small. Lots of wooden furniture that was very dated and uncomfortable. Only 2 parasols were supplied, that were attached to the floor,, despite raising with the agent no further parasols were supplied, we went and bought our own. WiFi continued to drop in and out and did not work around the pool area. We had to wash up coffee cups after every use as not enough supplied. Location was good and outside space was good despite the parasols and dated sun beds."
