My Guest House experience
i enjoyed my stay here and the location is close to the train station. It was very convenient to have shops, restaurants, and supermarkets close by. The breakfast was good too. I would recommend people to stay here.

The check in for the hotel ends at 2pm- it is hard for people to plan trips to arrive this early. I had emailed ahead and said I would be later but the owner/manager seemed a bit angry when I had to be buzzed in at 930 pm. The room was nice but the bathroom was a little bit unclean.

Budget stay in Florence
Hotel is less than 10min from S.M.N train station and the Duomo. Very clean and tidy room. We stayed at room no8. good air conditioning and very good Wifi. hot water all the time. The breakfast was very sufficient to get you going in the morning and very helpful staff. Neighborhood has many local cafes and mini markets on the same street. The check in is slightly weird, where you ring a door bell and you need to say your name and then they will let you in. Apart from that, no other problems and would definitely recommend it.

Despite the fact that their website said check-in time was from 14:00 to 18:00, when we arrived at 16:00, there was no staff at the front desk. If we didn't bump into a guest, were being let in, and had her help us calling the staff on her cell phone, we would be stranded. Aside from the unfortunate check-in incident, the room was clean, spacious, and conveniently located.

We were moved but hotel seemed nice
When we arrived at the hotel, we were told there was a plumbing problem with our bathroom and because the hotel was full we had been moved to another hotel about 5 min away. This was somewhat of an inconvenience but the hotel staff was friendly and helped us get to the other hotel. We were able to come back to Cicerone Guest House for breakfast, which was very nice. From what we could see of the hotel it looked very clean and nice. About a 10 minute walk to the train station with luggage.

It was amazing! Very quiet place, comfortable with a organized and cozy soul! The hoster Gina was very very lovely and we could did all by foot cause everything was close: duomo, museum, ponte vechio, etc

A good place to stay!
We enjoyed our stay at Cicerone...it was in neighbourhood we chose and close to most things we wanted to see, within walking distance. The hotel is on the 2nd floor,very clean,felt cold at times but there were many extra blankets to keep us warm. The owner was very nice and helpful...like giving me kettle for evening tea.The breakfast was really good,with lots to choose from. Also liked how the hotel was decorated..lots of paintings and fotos on the walls.

Great location and friendly staff
Cicerone Guest House is a fantastically located 8-bedroom hotel. It takes about 5-8 mins to get to the main Florence train station, as well as Il Duomo (The Cathedral). It is located 2 mins away from Mercato Centrale, the biggest market in Florence. The staff, especially the owner, couldn't be more friendly, starting with lovely breakfasts and finishing with letting us leave our luggage for a few hours at the end o our stay. The only disadvantage was the lack of lift and the guest house is located on the first floor. However, some members of staff helped us move our luggage. All in all, friendly and helpful staff, great location and very good value for money. Highly recommended!!

Clean and within walking distance of attractions. The downside, I reserved a room for 4 and was given a triple room. I have been to 9 countries in Europe and when I booked a room for 4 I got a room with enough beds for all of us, not here. They kept saying I booked a double room as if they were doing me a favor by giving me 3 beds. Apparently the fact I said there were 4 of us when booking it did not mean anything. The lady at the front desk was rude and unwilling to accomodate us, one of us had to sleep on the floor. Everything else was ok!

No one present when we tried to check-in. Since we were traveling internationally, it was a huge issue for us trying to find a phone to call. We wasted more than 1.5 hr just try to find someone to check in! It was very annoying! Otherwise, the room is good.

Affordable stay close to tourist attractions
We stayed 3 nights in May 2014 during our Italy vacation. Overall we are very pleased. It is located at a walking distance from train station and most other interesting places in Florence. Room was clean, everyhting is relatively new. One small drawback - too few power outlets in a room, not possible to charge all our multiple gadgets at once. Breakfast was exceptionally good and generous. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Windows in our room looked on a busy street (via Nazionale) which was noisy at times even during the night.

we spent two nights. for chinese or others who like chinese food, it is a good place, for just 5 steps to a chinese snack bar and a convenience shop. the reception is nice. he just treated you like lord. the room itself is a little old, and the hanger in the closet is just too high for us shorts. anything else is nice.

It was a simple guest house. I felt that the neighbourhood was slightly dodgy. Owner/manager was not around all the time but I left a note to request for a hairdryer and he responded by leaving the hairdryer in the room when I got back.

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the station which is very convenience. The room is quiet. The bathroom is little bit small but it is clean. There is simple breakfast provided and we love the coffee. Be reminded that there is no lift and you need to pick your luggage to the room which is in the 1st floor.
