Ed and the Mango Bay team went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay and an amazing week in Fiji. We stayed in an oceanview bungalow which was close to the pool and restaurant/bar area and really comfortable with a lovely outdoor shower and the convenience of a fridge in the room. Continental breakfast was included in our booking served from 7:30-9:30. It had the normal coffee/tea/juice/toast and cereal and also included fresh fruit and a local pastry. Food is available all day and is lovely and fresh with daily specials which always include a local fish recipe. The cocktails are great too and you can’t beat having a pina colada in the pool! The pool is lovely and big with sun loungers and a couple of cabanas. There are standup paddle boards, kayaks and snorkels/masks which guests can use for free at high tide. You can also walk along the beach/reef at low tide. Ed was really knowledgable about local tours and booked the tubing tour for us (not to be missed) as well as giving us advice on getting the local bus so we could do the Bula coffee tour (also recommended) and see the town of Sigatoka. We also arranged a transfer direct with the hotel which was much easier (and cheaper) than using a local company. Overall we had a greet stay and were made to feel really welcome and part of the Mango Bay family!

Mango bay resort is a beautiful private little resort with bungalows in a lovely tropical garden. The beach is right in front of the restaurant for a beautiful view and free snorkelking, kayaking and paddle boarding in the private bay. Food was delicious (love the Fish tacos), prompt and very affordable. Ed and his team are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you and make it a great experience to stay there. We just got home yesterday and are already missing the place.

We booked Mango Bay for the location, between Sigatoga and Suva. The proprietors Ed and Jen were always approachable and really liked that they would spend time getting to know their guests. The grounds were well landscaped at all times and the canoes, snorkeling and paddleboards in excellent condition. All the staff from Reception, House Keeping, Kitchen and the Bar made you feel so welcome with happy smiles as they went about the day. Vinaka!

We really liked our stay here, staff is friendly and the owner dropped us at the bus station 2km further. It was quiet, we were about 8 people at the same time for the entire resort. The garden bure was huge (2 bathrooms) and confortable. The resort is isolated but perfect for some rest. Snorkeling & kayaking were free and the reef was magical. Restaurant was good but sometimes not in huge quantity. We recommend this place to anyone who like peace.

I can't say enough good things about this resort. We arrived late because of flight delays but they had someone waiting for us to greet us at the resort gate. They kept the kitchen open so we could have something to eat. Right from the start, everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We stayed in an ocean front Bure and it was everything I was hoping for. A thatched hut, shower outside to give an authentic experience. The food was the best we ate in Fiji and reasonably priced . Mango, Kelanie and Pablo the resident dogs are there if you are missing your fur baby at home and so super friendly. Atmosphere is Fiji time so if you want to relax you have the spot. Plenty of water equipment to snorkel, sea kayaking, day trips as much or as little as you want. Ed the owner is very accommodating to you needs so if you forgot anything, ask Ed. I wish we were closer than half way around the world away or I would go more often. Thanks Ed and staff for an amazing experience.

The resort was exactly what we were looking for, secluded , quiet and relaxing.we experienced a bit of the Fijian way of life . The Bure are very simple, both furnitures and ammenities are very eco friendly,if you’re looking for luxury this is Not for you.The owners Jen and Ed are extremely friendly and will bend backwards to accommodate you and help you in any way and together with all their staff they make an exceptional team.We loved their three dogs Mango, Pablo and Calana. I loved my time at Mango Bay Resort. Such a beautiful property, a bit off the beaten path but that was perfect for some good r&r for my last few days in Fiji. Upon arriving, all the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Tina, Ili, Alicia, Naomi, Meli, Seta, and the others were all so pleasant and great to talk to throughout my stay. The resort owners, Ed and Jen, were also great to talk to and made lots of good suggestions of things to do while on the Coral Coast. Ed even connected me with his tattoo artist, as getting a tattoo while in Fiji was an important to-do on my list. The resort dogs, Mango and Pablo, both had such cute personalities and definitely added to my stay. I highly recommend Mango Bay Resort for anybody looking for a quiet, remote, and restful stay while on the Coral Coast. I'll definitely be back! :)

Mango Bay is a quaint and smaller resort with a family feel. The bures are older...but I believe that's what lends to its charm. Our bure was thoroughly cleaned every day. The bed was very comfortable. The Fijian staff were friendly and caring. The food was fresh...and prepared to our preferences. Mango Bay is about half a mile from the road...which makes it a quiet location very close to the beach and ocean! Our bure faced the beach...and a short, 200-foot walk put my feet in the warm Pacific waters :) If I ever get the chance to return to Fiji...I would definitely stay at Mango Bay again!

Had two kids so booked specifically because of pool and advertised Wifi in all rooms. But reality was NO wifi in rooms and pool broken green-brown and closed with no prior warning. We were told at check-in that it had only been broken for two days and would be fixed the next day. Reality was that it had been broken for over a week and was down for most of our trip - kids were not impressed. Owner skulked around and was most unfriendly barely acknowledged guest and offered no apology nor any compensation. So called included free breakfast was cereal or toast. Cups, glasses and cutlery was constantly running out. Planned events were basically just written up on a board and left for you to do yourself. STAFF THEMSELVES, HOWEVER WERE WONDEFUL LOVERLY AND FRIENDLY. LOVED THE STAFF. AND STRANGELY ENOUGH STILL ENJOYED OUR STAY HEAPS.

Overall a good experience. Rooms were a bit dusty but bathrooms were clean. The property is very beautiful and the beach is amazing. They had plenty of activities for you to do including, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding. There is two villages you can walk to on either side of the resort and everyone is very friendly. Lots of mosquitoes, so bring bug repellent. I mainly got bites in my room and not near the beach area. Food was priced okay and very good. If you meet a man named Ben, you can buy fresh coconuts off him. He has the best coconuts. Overall a good experience here and I would come back. Thank you.

Only suggestion would be that some maintenance needs to be taken out in the rooms to make them more cleaner.

We booked for 4 nights at one of the standard beachfront bures, wanting to get a quiet and relaxing holiday. Firstly, we were put in the wrong room and brought this up with reception. The staff were very friendly and cooperative about this and explained that we were not at fault at all. Ed was also very helpful and generous, as he put us in another resort for one night and then upgraded us to the superior beachfront bure. The bures had a very nice and cosy feeling to it, with a lovely outdoor shower. The staff was also on hand to help carry our luggages from the reception to our rooms. Throughout our stay, we noticed that the staff were very friendly, getting to know everyone and making you feel like you are really on a holiday. They were always around to answer any questions we had. The various equipment for water based activities were also in good condition and made this resort very worth it by being so close to the clear water. Even though there is only one restaurant/bar, it made it very convenient to get what you want without walking around and wasting time. We were able to sit at the open restaurant and watch the beautiful sunset, whilst eating our meals there. There was also an extensive cocktail list, which is worth trying out everything on that list, made by the friendly bar staff. Even though it was a short stay, we are already planning to make another trip and hope to see everyone that we met at the resort.

Good spot on nice coastline. Hotel is very tired and needs a fair bit of maintenance work carried out. Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. Water was brown. Breakfast included was very basic. Staff friendly. The resort felt more like a back packers than a hotel. Nice pool. Dreadful drive down to the resort off main road.

Mango Bay has the makings of a nice resort but I encountered a few issues during my one night stay: 1) When I checked in, they could not find my name. They pulled up the Expedia booking but seemed even more confused. Told me to wait by the pool. I go there to wait for abt an hour. No one comes back to me to tell me the room is ready. Instead another staff member has me confused for someone else and goes check on my behalf. If she didn't, I don't know how long I'd have waited there. 2) Food portions at dinner was small and unsatisfying. Myself and the other guests staying at the dorm joked that we might have to munch on biscuits. Also, the toilet by the pool side looks very worn out. The cubicle doors have to be wrestled to close or open. 3) At night, a bunch of UK students partied and made so much noise. Had to plug in some music to sleep. 4) Checking out the next morning, the bill shows that I'm charged AGAIN for accomodation (even though I have already paid through Expedia) and pool towels. I tell them I did not use any pool towels and that I've already paid. They tell me that the person who checked me in yesterday wrote me as a walk-in guest hence the charge. I was confused since I literally SAW them pull up the booking email yesterday. Anyway, the staff eventually removed the extra charges. All in all, I was glad I was only staying for a night.

The staff at Mango Bay were excellent. Each one asked our name on arrival and called us by name for our entire stay. Always smiling and nothing was ever a bother. Local knowledge about the best spots to snorkel, how to climb a coconut tree and how to open them, debates (happy ones) about rugby and other sports, gave us a truly personal and unique experience. Tina, John, Marley, Wase, all 3 Ile's - sorry if I spelt your names wrong, and everyone we haven't named, thank you for giving us a beautiful memory. The resort itself was beautiful with lovely gardens and lawns. Many of the vegetables served in the meals were grown in the garden. The food was excellent especially the seafood, chicken sandwiches, and any of the traditional dishes. Wase is a cocktail master, mixing up beautiful creations as easily as if it was lemonade. The swimming pool was well kept. We stayed in a Garden View Burr. We felt our burr was a bit tired. The bathroom floor sloped the wrong way and water would flood the floor when we showered. The grout around the tiles on the floor and walls needed fixed as the tiles would get water underneath them. The bed was comfortable, but on lifting the bottom sheet was quite stained. A steam clean and/or mattress cover would be a big improvement. There were 6 of us staying in 2 burrs adjacent to each other, but there were only 3 chairs and 4 cups between the 2 burrs. This made playing cards during wet weather or having a cup of tea with just us difficult.

My partner and I stayed at 3 resorts across the week that we were in Fiji. The first being Mango Bay, unknown to expectations after making a last minute booking, this one exceeded the following 2 we stayed at. One being one of the most notable on the island, another being in a similar price range towards Pacific Harbour. The biggest differences I can take from Mango Bay were the Staff (Marley is the man), the satisfactory food menu and the peacefulness. A relaxing afternoon and mornings with nothing but the sound of the water and birds were something I didn’t know I needed so much until I had it. Be expected to maybe check in to stay while a Think Pacific group is there, but if you’re lucky enough to get a couple of extra days after the 1 or 2 they’re there, you’ll be pleasantly rewarded by what this resort has to offer. The satisfaction we received from Mango Bay made it memorable and also unanimous above our stays at The Warwick and Crusoes Retreat. If you’re looking for a quiet get away with a significant other, look towards Mango Bay. Something I should also note is Mango Bay offer tours and activities that are priced much more reasonable and offer much more for value compared to their competitors. Especially great for budget travellers.

The resort is gorgeous. Gardens are well maintained, plenty of great outdoor furniture, and hammocks. All the staff are wonderful. Kayaks are great. Volleyball and night entertainment is fun. Table tennis table is the worst I've seen and needs to be thrown out... does not even have legs. Pool table is pretty bad as well, but playable. The main issue I have with Mango Bay is the $50 room credit that was supposed to be credited to our bill, and was not. I noticed that the credit was missing after I payed the bill and told them about it. but they chose to ignore me. They also failed to include crab race winnings (luckily I noticed that before I payed the bill). There is only one place to eat and it is at the resort restaurant. Prices are about the same as in the restaurants in Sydney. Closest shops and local food is at least 15 km away by either bus or taxi. Local food is at least half the price (sometimes a third). The bed in our beach front room was a queen and not a king. The room was nice, and outdoor shower is great. If it wasn't for the $50 overcharge I would have given the resort 4 stars.

No kids club but our kids enjoyed everything from swinging chairs, crab race to volleyball. We liked it better than plantation island. Moses our night security man very vigilant. Good value for money! 5 days about right for this place. A car is good but they offer lots of trips on and off water anyway. Good food and free wifi a bonus. Beds comfy. Yes agree the facilities could do with an upgrade like new table tennis and pool table and better blankets and pillows on bed. And good scrub of doors and lick of paint here and there. All in all a great place with amazing views and great pool and Fiji music. Staff are amazing and seem happier and friendlier than plantation island.

An authentic, rustic and characteristic place offering just what we were after - a typically Fijian piece of paradise. We stayed in a Beachfront Bure, the beach on our doorstep. Free WIFI. Great food. A variety of activities everyday with an outstanding group of local Fijian staff who went above & beyond to make our experiences memorable. The only downfall being there was a robbery in one of the Garden Bure's on our last night & also, while we appreciated a free drink from the owner's son after being stuck out at sea in the late afternoon/evening on a snorkelling trip due to the boat battery being faulty, we didn't appreciate his unsavoury behaviour that was witnessed, along with his friends, that evening.

I booked a 6 bed dorm and ended up having the entire room for me for the first 4 nights, after that I had to share it. They offer a great variety of acitivities, however, it was off season and some of the acitivites were cancelled due to not enough sign-ups. The restaurant is very expensive and not for backpackers. If you wanna buy your own food you have to take a bus to the next village and there is no fridge or kitchen. All in all I enjoyed my stay there with the friendly staff.

The staff are local Fijian villagers. These people were awesome in every way! We made sincere friendships with several of the staff while there. They also took awesome care of a bad cut I got on my hand when I slipped and feel while wading rocks fishing (the hospital was out of the dark ages and a scary place). The I hope to go back just to continue building friendships with the true Fijian locals. The locals also take pride in Mango Resort as if it is a representation of themselves since it is adjacent their village. If not for the staff, the resort would be a failure. The owner does not take care of the property (he did put a new roof on one house while we were there, the first time in 20 years so maybe he will start to do proper upkeep??). The owner underpays his staff also but the staff love 'their resort' and take pride in it despite the bad ownership. The showers do not drain and have not for a long time. The on-demand gas hot water heaters shut off every minute or so without warning so I had to constantly be fooling it into restarting by turning off the cold water and then to prevent getting scalded, would have to carefully turn back on cold water once I heard the gas flame ignite again... The owner needs to put shelving into the bures (houses) so one can get their clothes out of suitcases that have to otherwise lay on the floor... Coral Coast is a poor region, not a place for people expecting a rich peoples resort vacation. Go to outer island for that!
