Riverside Cabin with kitchen and balcony

Location and Features
The fully air conditioned cabin is located on “Kotuku” a 75 acre lifestyle property with a kilometer of water frontage on Baffle Creek some 80km north of Bundaberg. “Kotuku” is ideal for those seeking a peaceful setting with private access to the Baffle Creek water ways for fishing, boating, crabbing and canoeing. Birdwatching is also an attraction with various habitats attracting a wide range of birds. The property is located close to the Baffle Creek amenities including shops, tavern and golf course.
The cabin is approximately 70 metres from the creek/pontoon and has a rural outlook. Guests have sole use of the pontoon for fishing etc. and securing their boat during their stay. There is also a private boat ramp on the property.
We do not charge additional fees during holiday periods but require a minimum booking of 5 days.

Facilities in the cabin.
The cabin is air conditioned. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a double bunk. It is fully self-contained with a full modern kitchen (microwave, cooktop and electric oven, and two fridges). There is an internal toilet, shower, vanity and front-loading washing machine. It has free-to-air satellite TV and video. There is a full length 3m veranda with a gas fired BBQ and outdoor dining setting. There is also firepit adjacent to the cabin with firewood supplied for those that like a campfire. We request no smoking in the cabin . Fresh linen and towels are supplied at the beginning of your stay and replaced weekly or on request.

Guests are able to explore the Baffle Creek waterways which are renown for fishing and crabbing as well as their pristine un-spoilt natural beauty. The private boat ramp is best used at the top half of the tide and is suitable for tinnies and smaller boats. We would be happy to assist in launching boats with our 4WD vehicle if required . Your boat can then be tied up to the pontoon for the duration of your stay.

Children and Pets.
Children are welcome and can immerse themselves in adventures that the natural world has to offer.
Well behaved/controlled/vaccinated dogs are very welcome, please bring whatever they require for bedding, water bowls etc. Pets are not allowed on the beds at anytime.

Use of the property.
Guests are most welcome to wander over the property as there is no other guest accommodation on site. Both of us are avid bird watchers so bring your binoculars and field guide as a wide range of bird species are either resident or are seasonal visitors. The Baffle system is ideal for kayaking so if this is 'your thing' also bring your kayak or canoe. We value the pristine environment at “Kotuku” and try to protect it. We like to share the property with our guests and hope they too will value the natural beauty of the Baffle Creek area.

Most Relaxing Break Ever
We were chasing a quiet relaxing Christmas and Kotuku certainly provided. Our accommodation was very comfortable for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. Being Christmas it was quite hot but there is air con in every single room, a comfortable bed and an extra fridge out on the deck to keep bait and drinks. Although the main house shares the property we had our privacy and easy access to the jetty. We took way too much stuff including clothes as there was a washing machine complete with pegs, detergent and even a clothes horse for wet weather. Shampoo, soap, conditioner and all kitchen washing up items were also supplied. An easy 10 minute drive to the tavern and convenience store if you need time out. Special thanks to our hosts Judy, Phil and dog Juno for a break to be remembered. Next time we come we promise to have a coffee with you. We were just too tired from 2021 to move out of our own way this trip but now feel ready to hit the ground running for 2022. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Back to Nature
A peaceful place to relax and unwind. The only sounds are those of nature and the accommodation had everything we needed. The hosts were so helpful and their pooch Juno checked in every day for a pat and a play. Would recommend to anyone who wants to recharge their batteries.

Nice Place But..
I really like the property there and it is in a lovely setting there with the trees and the creek close by. It is such a shame you did not know that a building has to be at least 50 metres from an Electricity Transformer. One of my neighbours was sleeping next to one of those, and ended up having a heart attack, and passed away. What was worse than the Electricity Transformer, was the fact a high voltage cable to the shedding, that went over the main bedroom, with high voltage reaching to the bed. As I have a Brain Injury that I was born with, and as I am still recovering from having the blockage at the back of my brain cleared, I require somewhere safe to stay away from WiFi, phone towers, NBN Fixed Wireless internet towers and high voltage. Unfortunately, these cause my brain to race much the same way as your heart racing from an adrenaline boost. Each night I stayed, I woke up with my brain racing, making it difficult to go back to sleep due to the high voltage. It isn't good for anyone else's brain either!!! Before the invention of electricity there was no Heart Disease, Cancer or Diabetes so just because you don't have my reaction, you have a high chance to end up one of these. I was then hardly able to work and had to do a lot of driving while I was there. Due to lack being able to do my work, I have got very behind, and have had to work hard to catch up. Thanks for allowing me to use the internet to do my shifts in the afternoon. That was very much appreciated. As it takes a great deal of research for me to find somewhere else safe to stay, unfortunately with little internet usage while I was there other than to do my shifts, I was not able to locate somewhere else nor did I have the time to do so.
