We have eaten at the Tu Restaurant many times, but we spent our first night at the Espiritu just recently. We booked a family room on the third floor (counting the ground floor as #1). It was quite a contrast to our usual lodging in Vanuatu. For one thing, there were two bathrooms attached to the room, and both showers had hot and cold running water. There was not an outhouse anywhere in smelling distance. Good fly screens keep out mosquitoes in the unlikely event that any find their way to the third floor of this downtown location. Electric power to everything but the refrigerator is controlled by the room key. When we came in for the evening, we turned on the air conditioner and shut the windows. This effectively shut out (most of) the outside noise. My wife borrowed a couple of DVDs from reception. They were children's movies for our daughter to watch on the in-room TV and DVD player. I perused the internet. It was slow and had a 7168 MB limit for 7 days, but any internet in Santo is a big plus. The beds were very comfortable. We slept well. Our daughter enjoyed the pool as she always does when we come to the restaurant. The complimentary continental breakfast was available to order, rather than on buffet, but it was ample. If you are looking to experience the real Vanuatu, then this is not for you. If you are looking for comfort in the heart of Santo Town, then this is the place for that.
