Perfect for MTBs, lake and river fishing, bush walking, fossicking, bird-watching, platypus spotting, simply reading a good book, or doing nothing.
All within metres of Main Street in the mountain village of Derby.
The townhouse-styled Shed stands alone. It looks very different, still a bit like the old shed it once was: inside it is high tech and exciting with glass everywhere, racked ceilings and timber floors.
The split level Shed is spacious at over 70sqm plus large outdoor entertaining decks. The lower level area includes a well equipped kitchen/dining area with all the mod cons.
The Shed is stylish and luxurious with leather armchairs and a large leather sofa with wonderful views everywhere, all opening onto a large wraparound deck with spectacular views.
A computer work bench with USB charging points and a Bluetooth Bose sound bar looks over the river into the mountain bush land; there is also FREE fast Wi-Fi and a high speed SmartTV.
On the upper level there are two bedrooms each with large built-ins. The queen bedroom has lovely river bush views and the second room has two single beds. All linen and doonas are high quality.
Even the walk in shower has its own viewing window looking across the river and mountains from within the striking bathroom with its heated Spanish floor tiles.
There is also a fully equipped laundry and the whole space is heated or cooled by a powerful Fujitsu reverse cycle pump.
Out back you have a large yard, garden table and your own private bike and luggage storage shed; private parking is available.
Feeling peckish? You can easily prepare a delicious meal in the Shed s fully equipped kitchen and dine-in with style; or enjoy a simple BBQ and the views on your private decks.
It is just a short stroll to Derby s bike shops, shuttle services, pubs and cafes.
Derby s historic Postmaster's has been recently renovated with the original Lodge and its Main Street Apartment providing accommodation for families and groups, the just completed Shed is designed for up to four guests.
The Shed is all yours and has its own private entrance with a coded access.
There are sensor lights for the evenings.
Your secure bike and luggage storeroom is just off the back decks.
The Postmaster's has a large backyard and garden which may be shared from time to time with guests from the Lodge and Main Street Apartment with minimum impact on your privacy.

The township itself is the perfect spot not just for the famous Blue Derby MTB Trails but for bush walking, fishing and kayaking.

It is a great base for touring Tasmania s beautiful north eastern wineries, waterfalls, forests and beaches: for example it is just 90 minutes from the spectacular Bay of Fires and 60 minutes to the famous Pipers Brook Vineyard.

Derby is also home to the annual madcap Derby River Derby and regularly hosts the best MTBers from around Australia and overseas for events such as the upcoming Enduro World Series.
Derby is an ideal stopover if you are traveling to the beautiful East Coast from either Devonport or Launceston and is just an hour from St Helens.

By the way, if you are planning on traveling onto Hobart your co-hosts Grant and Luise also have 3 modern apartments in their recently renovated building in North Hobart, just 5 minutes from the local entertainment strip. There is a spacious 2 bedroom apartment sleeping up to six and two stunning studios ideal for couples but with sofa beds for an extra two guests.
Air-conditioned accommodation at this holiday home offers DVD players and a hairdryer. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and kitchenware and utensils.

Bathrooms include baths or showers. Guests can surf the web using complimentary wireless Internet access.

Upper end Derby
Great 2 bedroom modern place on the banks of the river, next door to bike washing stand and center of town. Place to lock up bikes, air pumps provided. Clean and tidy with well appointed furniture. Only thing missing was fresh ground coffee! (loaf of fresh bread and bottle of wine provided). highly recommended

The best accommodation in Derby
The Shed is easily the best accommodation in Derby. Positioned in the heart of town overlooking the river, designed to take in the beautiful environment and built to facilitate privacy and warmth when required. Everything has been thought of, from great communication to ease of gaining access, not to mention the lovely (and very comfortable) furniture and appliances.

Great little shack!
This is a very nice place to stay in Derby, the living area is fabulous, being all open with a great outlook over the river. Also great are the kitchen area, modern bathroom/ laundry and comfortable bedrooms. Grant is really awesome to deal with and super communicative and helpful on all matters of the stay. So many positives about this place, from the location, bike shed, front deck, thoughtful amenities, parking and overall comfort, only negative is if you’re unlucky to be there when it’s raining, as there are no undercover areas to clean yourself up after a wet and muddy ride. But that’s it! I’d certainly recommend staying here and would stay again in a heart beat.
